The One That Got Away...Part 2

About a week & a half a go I made a post about they guy that I had been into for most of college...you can read about him here.

On Saturday I finally decided to tell him how I felt.  I did it on Facebook rather than text message BECAUSE on Facebook it tells you when someone has seen your message or not.  I figured that way I would know if  I was just being straight up ignored or if he just hadn't gotten my messages yet. ... He hasn't.  The fact that he hardly ever goes on Facebook was something I used to find attractive, right now I'm over here thinking "COME ON MAN! YOU'RE KILLIN ME!"  So what did I say?  Something along the lines of:

"So here's the deal.  I don't know where I stand right now but I never knew where you stood.  I can't really explain why I'm saying this now either.  Remember back when I first told you we were going home together?  I said that because it was easier than just telling you that I liked you."
"Please also remember that I'm a big girl & can handle anything you have to say or not say, I just don't want things to be weird between us when we do talk."

He Was The One That Got Away

ya know...the one that wrecked my heart...shoulda never let him go...

I could go on & just type out the whole song...but in all seriousness I have one of those & he came back into my life yesterday & I've been a zombie like wreck since.  Not so secretly, every time I hear the song I hope that I'm the one that got away.

I met said boy in August of 2009.  We had 2 classes together & I had THE biggest crush on him from the second I laid eyes on him.  My ex & I had just broken up, for the first time...& should've just ended it for good at that point instead of dragging it out for another 14 months of off & on... but that is neither here nor there.

I was 20 years old & it was one of those extremely girly crushes where I wanted to add him on Facebook but was afraid he would think I was weird cause we didn't really talk & then if he didn't accept I'd have to see him nearly everyday all semester... no worries he accepted!  We didn't really talk outside of class but in class was enough...especially since ya know I had the whole off & on relationship thing going on.

But then he disappeared.  The following semester he studied abroad in Australia & then he took a semester off.  I honestly didn't think I'd see him again except for on Facebook.  I was working at Gander Mountain at the time & he happened to come in & we talked briefly as I was checking him out...at the register & with my eyes ha.  He showed up at a school meeting one day & was enrolling back in school.

It's Spring semester of 2011 at this point if you've lost track...I had.  We didn't have class together again until Fall 2011 but we would randomly talk off & on if we saw each other at school.  We only had one class together in the fall but we talked a lot more.  We sat kind of by each other in class & there was apparently a mutual attraction between us that I guess looking back I noticed but refused to see because I just couldn't believe that he might be into me.  The following semester we were going to be starting our final semester, student teaching, the one where I up & moved to TX for 4 months.

One night in December we had a Social Studies Pub Crawl...it was the last time I was going to be seeing these people until maybe graduation & possibly ever.  Everyone in our major knew I had a thing for him.  Regardless of whether I had been the one to tell them, someone else had told them. or because "the flirting & tension between you 2 is completely obvious."  We all go out to the Pub Crawl & as the night goes on one of my other guy friends sits me down & says that I need to stop torturing myself & either tell him how I feel or move on.  So that's exactly what I did should've done.  I was too scared.  I was terrified that he would reject me, that he'd never want to talk to me again because it would be awkward.  So what did I do instead in my slightly intoxicated it's now or never moment... I marched right up to him & said "We're going home together!" ... and we did.  I talked to him maybe a handful of times when I was in TX but that was it.

Then I came home for graduation.  My friends & I literally spent Wed/Thur-Sat night of graduation drinking & going out in our college town.  I don't remember if it was the first night or the second night back but there he was.  We walked into the bar & I didn't even notice he was there.  I was talking to some other friends when someone taps my shoulder & says "Bri, look who's here..."  So I turn & he's staring at me so I walk over & we talked all night long...& went home together because once again I couldn't just say how I felt.  I didn't see him again until graduation day & then that night.  We didn't really talk a whole lot & when I decided to head home we hugged goodbye & I told him I'd see him at WeFest.

Fast forward 3 more months to August 2012.  One night I went to go hang out with him & his friends because mine were being lame & I wanted to see him.  We stayed up talking a little while after his friends went to bed & then when he said he was ready for bed I said I was going to head back.  I wanted to stay, I wanted him to want me to stay, & he did.  He told me I could just stay there.  It didn't last real long we were sharing the floor of an RV.  So I got up at the ass crack of dawn to go sleep in my own tent with an actual pillow & room to move.  The last night of WeFest I went to say goodbye & he was hammered.  I remember him saying something about how he wasn't just a piece of meat.  I don't remember how it came up & it was exactly directed right at me but I still felt a slight sting.  Then, he proceeded to hit on my friend who was with me.  Finally I had had it so I was just like ok well we're gonna go now bye.  I talked to him one more time on my way down to TX to tell him good luck on an interview.

So here it is 5 months later.  I'm lying in bed yesterday trying to nap before I go out.  But I couldn't sleep.  All I could think about was how I was sick of being alone.  Then I was thinking about the boys who make up my past...a lot about said boy.  I was also doing a lot of thinking about where I want to be.  Like do I want to stay down around Houston, do I want to stay in TX but somewhere else, should I just go back to MN?  I was doing some praying to God...how I just want to fall in love & figure out my life.  Ya know the "can you please just send me THE guy already?" "can you please give me a sign as to what I'm supposed to be doing with my life & where I need to be?"  Literally within a minute of the whole asking for a sign...I get a facebook message.  It's him.  I started bawling my eyes out.  I would like to point out that he had been drinking & I knew he had.  I knew from Facebook that he was ice fishing with some friends.  But here is the very brief conversation that ensued:

Boy: Why did you come back & not even tell me!  You come to MN & whatever?
Me: Ha I apologize you can be the first person I tell when I come back again next time.
B: Bri! Not acceptable.  I was looking forward to seeing you after Christmas!  You got a job & I didn't.
M: Well then you have lots of free time you should just venture down to TX
B: Well I didn't get a job teaching.  I work for ______.
...then came the line that broke my heart in multiple ways.
B: I want you!
M: Well then you'll have to figure out a way to get down here cause I'm not coming back until summer.

There's the part of me that says "don't be dumb...he was just drunk & wanted to get laid"
Then there's the part of me that says "so what if he was drunk...this isn't the first time he's been drunk since August & it's not like you're the only girl he's ever slept with so maybe..."
...obviously I want it to be the he actually wants me...
Why?  Why now?  Why me?  Why did he say those things?  Did he really mean those things or was he just drunk?  It's not like I was even online at the time & so he just happened to see I was online.  I wasn't...& when I did actually go one I noticed he had "liked" one of my pictures.

So now I'm half stuck.  I don't know what to do.  The scared part of me wants to just let it go & pretend like it never happened.  The hopeful part of me wants to ask so if he really does like me we can figure this out.  The part of me that was already getting over him...the same one that is sitting here like a zombie...wants to ask so he can just tell me he was just drunk so I can move on for once & for all.  But I'm scared of the answer.  I'm scared for the exact same reasons that I was scared to add him on Facebook, the same reasons I was afraid to tell him back in Dec. 2011.

So I text him around 10:30 this morning with an ease in light hearted "How's the hangover Casanova?"
...he responded while I was typing this up...so like 3.5 hours later...the point when I had just told my cousin 20 minutes early even if he never responds I need to just tell him everything to get it over with.  His response? "Ha not great.  Starting drinking at 8 am was a bad idea."

...that's it.  I don't know what to do.  I know what I NEED to do but I'm too scared... I don't know what to respond with.  Hey God?  I need another sign please.

That Moment When...

I really thought that I had posted about the cop that I had been talking to this past summer but apparently I didn't.  So, before I go into my new story I need to go into the back story.  If I have posted about the back story & just can't find it, please just bare with me.

I first moved home from college in the summer of 2011.  I started working at a gas station that May as soon as school let out.  The gas station that I worked at has ALWAYS been where the cops hung out.  Even back when we were in high school it was a long standing joke that at any given moment there would be a cop or 2 there.  It has gotten better since there is a new sheriff & he does not approve of them spending so much time just hanging around but they are definitely still there.

There were a couple of cops that I thought were super cute.  Because I wasn't full time & they work a rotating schedule I wouldn't always know when/if I would see them.  One of them started talking to me when he would come in but it wasn't often.  I think that was partly because he's one of the cops that didn't spend as much time hanging around the gas station & we just happened to work such opposite schedules.  I stopped seeing him for a long time & eventually moved down to Texas from January-April.

Fast forward to May 2011.  When I came back home I got a job at the gas station again for the summer, or until I found a "grown-up" job...which was luckily right away.  I saw the one cute cop that I never really talked to a lot, because he's one of the cops that's ALWAYS there.  I didn't see the other one like ever though.  (Side note I hate myself a little for saying like...)  One night though I was working & he came in.  He caught me a little by surprise because I didn't see him come in and suddenly he was talking to me.  From then on he started coming in every time we were both working & we would talk.  One day, after going back & forth, I added him on Facebook.  I figured what's the worst he can do?  Not accept it?  Big deal.  He did accept it by the way.  When he would come in we would talk about how much it sucked that while everyone else worked normal M-F shifts we did not so sometimes we were really bored when we didn't have to work & everyone else did.  I was hoping he would get the hint & ask me to do something but he didn't.  SO, I sent him a message with my number & said if you're ever bored text me.

Fast forward just a little more to July.  We text off & on.  Right away he suggested that we hang out & that he would try to plan a bonfire so we could hang out on a Sunday.  We didn't talk after that until I text him the day before to see if we were still on.  He apologized & said he was sorry but his grandma wasn't doing well  While completely disappointed (and almost disbelieving) I told him I understood & left it at that.  A few days later I asked how she was doing & he said she had passed away.  Our county fair was coming up & I invited him to Motocross with my friends & I.  He said we'd meet up later at the beer gardens with his friends too.  It's almost 10 & we're all getting ready to leave & he's not there.  So I text him & told him were leaving.  He apologized & said something about he'd been having a rough time lately.  I told him I understood he went on about how I was so nice & how much it sucked that I was going to be moving so far away.  We text a couple more times back & forth.  At this point I was about ready to head off to WeFest & then to Texas so in a last ditch effort I invited him to go play laser tag...we did not.  We also stopped talking, with the exception of me going off on how I wasn't the type of girl who was going to wait around & play some stupid game.  I saw him once more while working, well sort of.  I saw him pull up in his cop car & I went & hid in the bathroom until he was gone.

Fast forward another 5 months to yesterday...we're still facebook friends by the way.  I kept him as a friend when I left mostly as a "look at what you missed out on because I'm awesome & rare."  We don't talk on facebook though, or even comment or like each other's stuff.  Anyway, I'm in a town 20-30 minutes away from the town I live in at a liquor store.  I'm trying to find some wine for a friend's Christmas present when all of a sudden I hear "hey you!"  I whip around & probably had a shocked look on my face.  I say "hey! how have you been?"  While fighting the urge to turn red we talked for a minute or 2 about nothing of importance at all before he left & I continued to find the wine.

I always wondered what it would be like if I ever bumped into him again.  I didn't see him at all when I was home for Thanksgiving & then bam in one of the last places I would have expected there he was.  It was slightly awkward but not near as bad or anything at all like I had imagined it would be like.... BOYS!

Stupid Boy

For the 2 of you that read my blog that actually know who I am, I am going to preface this with a confession.: I have been on & off dating websites since I was 20 years old.  However Becky, it is nothing like farmersonly.com, because THAT is stupid.  Because I'm about to post someone's "About Me" section I'm going to leave which sites off.  I have talked to many guys from these sites & I've even met one (not for a date & I was never interested in dating him, we have a mutual friend, we're even still facebook friends to this day).  I have however never gone on a date with any of them?  Why?  Usually because once I talk to them more I decide I'm not all that interested in them.  Well a little while ago a guy messaged me.  He was cute so I read his profile.  Right away I should have just not responded because I knew long term it wouldn't work but I figured "hey, he's cute & new people are interesting"  So what did his profile say?

well well....the fun part...let's make it short and simple.

do's and don'ts..THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS!!

1. don't live more than an hr away.
2. have a car.
3. have SOME KIND of income. I'm not gonna be ur sugar daddy.
4. be ed-u-ma-ca-ted.
5. don't do drugs.
6. don't be a felon.
7. don't be super shy.
8. don't be a fake..OR a flake.
9. don't be a drama mamma or have immature anger issues.
10. like dogs.
11. plus if u like sushi.
12. BE HEALTHY. that doesn't mean look like a super model...just take care of ur body.
13. don't be a party animal and like to drink every night of the week.
14. be affectionate.
15. know the definition of space..and understand when it will apply.
16. know how to take a joke.
17. like tattoos...I have 5.
18. don't be overly country..like own ur own cow..we for sure won't work.
19. DON'T BE NAIVE. a good example...a girl post pics of her on here in a swim suit...or half naked in some way...then complains that guys are sending her dirty messages...really dude??? lol
20. please don't be one of those girls that finds it nessacary to drunk dial. immature and stupid.

ok..so that's it for my list for now..lol nothing picky..this stuff should be the basics and foundation of every MATURE female. I'll tell u more about me when the time comes..until then...happy fishing!! :)

ps. don't message me saying "hi".."hey"..."how are u"...stuff like that shows lack of effort and there for won't get a response. if u do message me worth something other than that...I can assure u that u will get a response. don't be afraid to message me!!! :) :)

Now out of these 20 I don't fit 3 & 2 are pretty damn important.  Which 3? #1, 11, & 18...I'll let you decide which 2 are important.

So I responded, to each of the 20 criteria.  I prefaced my message with I'll let you decide if you'll actually think we'll work or not & you can respond from there.  Despite my living an hour away, desperately wanting a cow, & hating sushi he responded saying he was now extremely interested.  So we messaged back & forth for awhile.  This weekend he messaged me his #.  Saturday afternoon while I was at the fair.  By Saturday evening it was done.  We talked all day joking & flirting.  At some point that night while I was at Billy Bob's he asked where exactly in Houston I lived.  I told him & he responded with something along the lines of damn.  I responded with something about me previously telling him I lived too far away & being too country for him.  He responded with well good luck on your search bye.

I know this shouldn't come as a big surprise considering the country part is the biggest factor & couldn't have been over looked in the long run.  But really dude?!  I told you straight up I lived over an hour away & came very close to owning my own cow this summer.  YOU chose to still respond.  YOU chose to continue message back & forth.  YOU chose to give me your number so we could talk even more.

Why are boys so stupid?!

North Texas

that's where I want to move to.  This week anyway.  Last week it was the Austin area.  Who knows where it'll be next week.  All I know is I don't really like it here.  I'd say I don't absolutely hate it but that's only because I love my friends.  I'll miss them.  But I also miss the people I left back home.  I hate that it's 6 weeks into the school year & I'm already trying to find new places to go.

The Day From Hell

I woke up sick: sore throat & all.
I tried to stop at a gas station to buy cough drops to make it through the day, it wasn't open.
My car wouldn't start.
I forgot to put on deodorant.
One of my students got accused of stealing a wallet by another teacher.
Pretty sure I annoyed my AP.
I had to put scented anti-bacterial on my pits at lunch (see above)
I basically laughed as another teacher asked me one of my students' names so he could write him up. (The laugh was unrelated I was just laughing as I answered my door.) Pretty sure he wasn't amused.
My car wouldn't start.
AAA had to jump it in the pouring rain.
I had to buy a new battery.
Batteries Plus almost wouldn't put it in because it was raining.
Grades are due tomorrow & I have 2 classes worth of work to grade.
I still feel like shit.

Texas So Far

I arrived in Tomball, Texas around 2-2:30 in the afternoon on Thursday the 9th.  I got a bed for my apartment, signed my papers, found a bank, & got all of my boxes moved into my apartment.  My neighbor is nice, the apartment lady is nice, the people at my bank are nice.  All is fairly well as far as people go.  I already have a few friends down here from when I was in Texas before which is nice.  The downfall is that they are all 30+ minutes away from me.  I need to make friends in my town somehow.  I know I'll meet more teachers but they will be just as far away and driving that far to see people all the time is a lot of gas money.

The cable/internet situation is a whole other story.  As you already know I was all set-up to go with Comcast.  I had the equipment sent to my house to save myself $50 of having someone do it for me.  It was really easy to set up, however, no one ever came to hook-up my outside cable.  They were supposed to do so on Thursday but either couldn't or didn't.  Someone was then supposed to come yesterday but once again didn't or couldn't.  I called today pissed.  The soonest someone could come out? Tomorrow.  That doesn't work for me however because I will be in meetings until at least noon if not longer & they don't give you a time of when they are showing up & I have to be present.  Plus, I was so sick of dealing with them.  I talked to 6+ people from Comcast from 8:30-11 today.  I was supposed to be called back twice & wasn't either time.  I finally called back a final time & told them I was not going to deal with them anymore & to cancel any outstanding appointments I have because I'm going to return their equipment.

So now? Now I have ATT.  It's $30 a month cheaper, I get free DVR, & I'm hoping they are a lot easier to deal with.  The downfall?  Because I waited until just now to do so the soonest I can have it hooked up is Sep. 1.  They have weekdays open as soon as the 22 but I will be in meetings all day & therefore cannot be there when they show up.  I'm hoping to turn my phone into a hotspot until then.  It's $14.99 but it's cheaper and easier than coming to Starbucks everyday.  I've spent almost that in the 3 times I've been here & that's nearly 3 weeks away.  I'm sad that I'm missing Shark Week but really I'll be in meetings for most of it anyway.  I can live without cable/TV I did so for 4 months & survived just fine.  I can still watch movies on my laptop & will have plenty to do during the week until then.  The internet is a whole other story.  I can't really prep lessons & such without it and classes start the 27th.

Very long story short: Comcast sucks & I will never ever deal with them again.  Also, as much as I do love Texas once I'm down here...the past week of my life has made me so ready to move home next year.

Road Trip 1.5 Brianne 0.5

I woke up this morning & since I only had a 5.5 hour drive, I should have gotten to Dallas about 3:45, I decided to call the electric company & cable/internet company to get that set up.  I call the electric company first.  They cannot process it over the phone because I don't have a Texas drivers license...um what?  But have no fear all I have to do is fax over my license along with my apartment information.  Done deal.  It was going to take until Friday night to have electric but I was going to get it.

I call Comcast & get my cable/internet set up no problem.  They told me that they also worked with a company to set up electric.  ...Should've called them first...

I get most of the way through Oklahoma when I get a phone call saying that they could not process my request because I am not from Texas.  Sweet... So I called them & cancelled my service.

I then spent the next hour on the phone with my new electric company.  They couldn't process my request.  Why?  Because the other company didn't actually cancel my request.

So...I call the old company back & they finally cancel it.  I call my new one back & BAM I will have electricity tomorrow.

I totally treated myself to steak.  I had an amazing steak, loaded baked potato, & salad delivered to my hotel room.  $26 & totally worth it.

Road Trip 1 Brianne 0

Today was the first day on my drive down to Texas.  Both of my parents had to be out of town this weekend so we said our goodbyes on Sunday.  Luckily my brother & my dog were there to see me off.  I left at 8 am this morning on what should have been a 10 hour drive to Wichita.  The whole trip started off smoothly, the tears ended by the time I hit my road, I made it through St. Paul without getting lost, I got to talk to my cousin for about an hour, all in all it was a pretty good start.

Fast forward 2.5 hours to Medford.  My low tire pressure light came on.  My first thought was "oh shit not now!"  My next thought was it's probably just the sensor like it has been every other time.  Just to be safe I exited in Medford, which if you can ever avoid do so cause it's a terrible terrible exit.  I checked my tires which were a little low but not terrible.  I then also noticed that my camera completely died on me.

So I go to the next exit where I attempt to put air in my tires.  I'm in a dress, it didn't go well.  I basically flattened one of my tires.  So I go inside buy some new rechargeable batteries & have the VERY nice lady put air in my tires.  FYI I couldn't stand that customer when I worked at a gas station...I became that customer...karma.  Also, those batteries didn't work.

So I go to the next exit & buy non-rechargeable.  Nope, still doesn't work.

I exit then in Albert Lea so I can go to Wal-Mart & get a cheapish camera cause I'm not making the drive without one.  I go to leave & somehow wound up heading back up north...5 miles later I got myself turned around.

I FINALLY cross the MN/IA boarder & exit at Diamond Jo's Casino so that I can go to the bathroom, get some gas, & get some lunch.  I get the gas...no problem.  I go to the bathroom...don't worry also fine.  I then get in line for Burger King when some lady walks up to me & says "I just need to tell you that your skirt is in your underwear..." F.M.L.  At that point however I was so flustered from my day that I was just like thanks & pulled it out of my underwear like it was no big deal.  I got my food & left.  I got to my car where I realized I lost my favorite pair of sunglasses.  I didn't know if I left them in the bathroom or BK though & at that point I just said fuck it & drove away.

The rest of the trip was a breeze.  I made it to Wichita by about 7:30.  So really all that drama didn't add a whole lot of time to the drive considering I also had to make other stops for gas & bathroom.

Oh! And I got some delicious pizza hut pasta & breadsticks for supper.  I didn't have the heart to tell the girl that I didn't really need 2 forks because I was alone & planned on dominating the whole thing myself, which I did, & I don't feel bad about at all...

Drama Drama Drama

"Let's start at the very beginning.  A very good place to start."  Sorry haha just watched The Sound of Music the other day and since this story is a doosie... the beginning is a good place to start.  Thanks for the suggestion Frauline Maria.

Nearly two years ago in the summer of 2009, July of 2009 to be exact, one of my best friends and I headed out on a road trip to Colorado.  I suppose July isn't exactly where the story begins but I don't recall exactly when we decided we were bound & determined to go on a road trip.  Our original plan was to head to El Paso.  I was down.  I had never been there before & she apparently loved the place.  A little while later though it turns out one of her cousins is getting married.  Ok new plan of action.  Our new road trip plan is to drive down to El Paso still & then up to Colorado in time for the wedding.  I'm still down just not as down.  Meeting a bunch of extended family wasn't exactly my idea of an awesome road trip.  But hey it was only for the wedding & it was still a road trip.  A little while later the plan changes once again.  She wants to get to Colorado earlier & so there just wasn't enough time for both.  At this point, I was definitely on the not so down side.  I had never been to Colorado though, she was excited, & I had the travel bug bad so I still agreed.

So on Tuesday July 28th, 2009 we pack up my car & set out for Colorado.  We spent our first night in Omaha.  The next day the plan is to drive to Denver & stay the night there before crossing the mountains the next day to reach the wedding destination.  Once again though plans changed.  We still got to Denver don't get me wrong but my friend wanted to meet her cousin for dinner.  I was not thrilled; it was getting late and I didn't want to meet cousin for dinner, especially not when it was out of the way, I still wasn't completely thrilled that so much of our trip was going to be with her family already, and we would be seeing him the next day anyway.  I know I know I sound like a complete bitch.  Honestly I was just unprepared to handle him.  I had never met him before and he was her favorite cousin so I was completely nervous because in my mind I was basically going to be a third wheel in a long overdue family reunion.  But being the awesome friend I was I sucked it up told her to tell him ok & headed to Fort Collins instead.

Wouldn't it be completely romantic if I said that the second I saw him I was done for?  Not the case.  Dinner was fine.  It wasn't awkward and I managed to be my charming, smart ass, goofy self despite the fact that I had never met this person before.  (In most cases, man or woman, I'm usually pretty shy & quiet when I first meet someone.)  After dinner we headed to Denver as planned.  He wasn't even a thought in my head; especially since it was pretty darn late at this time, I wasn't exactly sure where I was going, it was raining, and oh yeah my driver side windshield wiper decided to stop working ha.  The next day we were set to head over the mountains to the other side of the state.  The plan was to follow Ryan since we weren't going to be using the directions I had for reasons that I don't remember.  However, you guessed it, plans changed.  There were some flight issues with my friend's mom.  So we headed out on our way & then ended up meeting him somewhere along the way to follow him.  Fast forward through the rest of the time in Colorado because this isn't really supposed to be an overview of the trip.  We spent a total of 3 nights in Colorado & that was it.  I was in love with EVERYTHING.  I loved the state, I loved her family, & no I am not about to be overly dramatic & say I loved Ryan but I definitely didn't want to leave because there was a part of me that was really starting to like the kid.  But life must go on so we were on our way home again.

At the time I tried to blame my "feelings" on the fact that Branden & I had broken up and I was just trying to project myself onto someone else.  Realistically though we had broken up nearly 8 months prior & I had talked to plenty of guys in between so it wasn't like he was my first male encounter after a fresh break-up.  I came home, Branden wanted to get back together, I went back & forth over the idea, & in the end decided that I would regret it more in the long run if I didn't give us another shot.  So we got back together.  Ryan & I became facebook friends & started talking, a lot.  It was pretty close to daily for quite awhile.  Even when it slowed down it was usually still multiple times a week.  I ignored everything because Branden & I were back together & at the time I wasn't admitting to myself that I had actual feeling for the kid anyway.  He was just a fun person to talk to.

Fast forward to a year later to the summer of 2010.  Ryan is in MN for a family reunion & tells me I should come see him. What do I do?  Come up with some lame ass excuse as to why I can't because in reality I have a boyfriend & in the back of my mind I do know that I like the kid and I just felt like it wasn't right to go see some boy that you have feelings for, even if absolutely nothing would have happened, when you have a boyfriend.  Then lets fast forward just a little bit more to sometime before October but I'm not really sure how far before October; all I know is Ryan & his girlfriend started dating before Branden & I broke up in mid-October.  Anyway, Ryan likes this girl who is basically giving him the run around & I try my hardest to talk him through it & tell him to give her time (she had recently gotten out of a long-term relationship) and that she would hopefully come around; because once again I'm in a relationship that I don't know is soon ending & am not admitting my feelings to myself about him anyway.  So they start dating & we basically stop talking.

Let me take a time out for a second to just say that is one of my biggest pet peeves in the entire world.  I don't care if you're a great friend or just a kind of friend.  When you get a boyfriend/girlfriend do not cut out the rest of the world & stop talking to your friends.  It's dumb & in the end it's probably going to bite you in the ass.

Anyway, now the only time we really talk is when he comes on & is complaining about how much drama she is blah blah blah.  Once again, I try to make him see it from her side and/or just let him vent about it.  Somewhere in this time frame is when my roommates & I get the awesome idea to go on a road trip, not just any road trip, a Man v. Food road trip.  Our destinations were to be: KC, Amarillo, & Boulder.  One day I decide "hey!  Ryan doesn't live too far & staying with him would be way cheaper + haven't seen him in awhile"  So I send him a message on Facebook asking but telling him straight up if it's not cool with the gf don't even worry about it because I completely get that & don't wanna cross any lines that would make her upset, even though I've never met the girl and all I know is she is supposedly drama.  But we get the clear & after a long time it's all set.

This was another point in time when I was extremely annoyed at him.  We were trying to plan things & he wouldn't respond.  It finally came down to literally the day I was about to delete him out of my phone he replied back saying it was no problem & we could stay with him.  It was after that that we started talking more again, not nearly as much but we weren't going weeks upon weeks without talking.  But then about a week before we are about to leave for our trip he computer broke so for some reason he text me telling me that he wasn't going to be getting it fixed before we got there.  I wasn't really sure why because a)he doesn't really text, literally prior to him texting me to tell me this he never responded to a single text I sent him (which really wasn't many just a couple trying to figure out the whole hotel v. Ryan's ordeal) & b)all our plans were finalized so I didn't really know why it mattered that we wouldn't be able to talk on facebook in the week before we were leaving.  But whatever.  We then literally text each other every single day up until a few days after we got home from spring break (that fact does matter ha).

So we eventually get to Ryan's & he is going to take us out to try the bull balls I mentioned in my recap of spring break.  We are also going to meet his girlfriend.  I was definitely intrigued because of all of the complaining he had been doing since the beginning of their relationship & the fact that just a few weeks before we went out there I jokingly asked if they were going to get married soon so I could go to another CO wedding & he responded with something to the effect of "at this rate we aren't even going to be together by the time you guys get out here."  Needless to say they were still together when we got out there & still are together to this day.

Back to the girlfriend.  That girl is a straight up bitch.  I do see her side of things where she might feel possibly uncomfortable or whatnot due to the fact that three strange girls were staying at her boyfriend's place but I'm sorry, that does not give you the right to be a bitch.  We were all super nice to her & introduced ourselves, trying to ease her mind because I do get it.  Weird situation to be in.  Her response to our introductions: a snotty toned "not gonna remember that" which she then preceeded to point at Kayla & say you're Kayla right and then to me annnnd you're Meagan.  Ummm no I'm not actually.  So we go into the bar to have dinner & from there on out (meaning the entire rest of the time we were in Colorado not just at the restaurant) she was constantly picking stupid little fights, trying to control what he did, and answered every question/comment directed at him for him.  (That's basically the summary of her bitchyness because I could literally create a whole lengthy blog just on the specifics of her meaness from the short time we were in Colorado).

So we leave Colorado & we continue to text daily for a few days & then it was just a few times through text & a couple times on facebook.  Neither lasting more than a couple minutes.  Now, I would just like to preface my following frustrations with I do not expect or need to talk to him daily.  At this point in time we have not spoken a work to each other in a good 2 weeks.  I feel like we are right back to the him ignoring everyone, me?, again.  I was down right pissed off for awhile, & I'm still annoyed but I'm at the point where I'm just like really? You're that kind of person?  Eff you.  He can't even use the excuse that he's too busy or hates going on facebook because if you recall we used to talk daily on facebook & he is on a rotating shift where he had 5 days on 5 days off so it's not like he's always working.

I know I sound completely needy/whiny/whatever.  Clearly I am mostly pissed off because I now actually realize how much I like the kid & have for quite awhile, he is with a girl who I have never heard him say one nice thing about, I miss the way things used to be, & that I just want to go all Meradith Grey and scream "pick me, choose me, love me"  (If you've never watched Grey's Anatomy you can YouTube that clip if you so desire.)

So basically now I'm in a keep your moth shut about how you feel about him & her because it doesn't matter anyway & if it's meant to be it'll happen kind of phase.  So that's my drama.  Sadly, as long as this was, that's the shortened, I know I've left stuff out version.  Also, thank you & congratulations if you've actually read it all.

God I've missed blogging.
