Today was the first day on my drive down to Texas. Both of my parents had to be out of town this weekend so we said our goodbyes on Sunday. Luckily my brother & my dog were there to see me off. I left at 8 am this morning on what should have been a 10 hour drive to Wichita. The whole trip started off smoothly, the tears ended by the time I hit my road, I made it through St. Paul without getting lost, I got to talk to my cousin for about an hour, all in all it was a pretty good start.
Fast forward 2.5 hours to Medford. My low tire pressure light came on. My first thought was "oh shit not now!" My next thought was it's probably just the sensor like it has been every other time. Just to be safe I exited in Medford, which if you can ever avoid do so cause it's a terrible terrible exit. I checked my tires which were a little low but not terrible. I then also noticed that my camera completely died on me.
So I go to the next exit where I attempt to put air in my tires. I'm in a dress, it didn't go well. I basically flattened one of my tires. So I go inside buy some new rechargeable batteries & have the VERY nice lady put air in my tires. FYI I couldn't stand that customer when I worked at a gas station...I became that customer...karma. Also, those batteries didn't work.
So I go to the next exit & buy non-rechargeable. Nope, still doesn't work.
I exit then in Albert Lea so I can go to Wal-Mart & get a cheapish camera cause I'm not making the drive without one. I go to leave & somehow wound up heading back up north...5 miles later I got myself turned around.
I FINALLY cross the MN/IA boarder & exit at Diamond Jo's Casino so that I can go to the bathroom, get some gas, & get some lunch. I get the gas...no problem. I go to the bathroom...don't worry also fine. I then get in line for Burger King when some lady walks up to me & says "I just need to tell you that your skirt is in your underwear..." F.M.L. At that point however I was so flustered from my day that I was just like thanks & pulled it out of my underwear like it was no big deal. I got my food & left. I got to my car where I realized I lost my favorite pair of sunglasses. I didn't know if I left them in the bathroom or BK though & at that point I just said fuck it & drove away.
The rest of the trip was a breeze. I made it to Wichita by about 7:30. So really all that drama didn't add a whole lot of time to the drive considering I also had to make other stops for gas & bathroom.
Oh! And I got some delicious pizza hut pasta & breadsticks for supper. I didn't have the heart to tell the girl that I didn't really need 2 forks because I was alone & planned on dominating the whole thing myself, which I did, & I don't feel bad about at all...
