Transform Your Life In 2019

2019

Happy New Year!!  I hope that everyone had a fabulous New Year's Eve & holiday season!  I know I have certainly been enjoying my time with family & friends!

I am so ready for 2019 & to see all that it has to offer!  Before I share with you what my "Word of the Year" is, I want to share with you the words that I chose for previous years as well as how I landed on my word for 2019.  The first part will be short & sweet as I only started choosing a word of the year a couple of years ago.

2018: Balance

2017: Discover

My word for this year has actually been coming for some time now.  I slowly started putting my word into action around my 30th birthday without knowing that it would become my word, or even exactly what that word would be.

It was around my 30th birthday when I started my own business.

That business led to changes in my health & fitness, as in actually caring about them.  Both of which were definitely called for after I had wound up in the ER twice for high blood pressure in August & September.

I suppose it was actually then that I realized I needed a change.  I knew I needed to do something about my career & not only how much stress it was causing me, but also how apathetic I had become about it.  It was those ER visits & the realization that my job was a big part of my stress is what actually led me to wanting to start my own business.

This new business led me to an extremely supportive community of women & the changes I had made for my health & fitness led me to feeling better not only physically, but also mentally & emotionally.  The last two far more important to me than the first if I'm being honest.

I had been toying with the idea off & on since I had left MN last summer, but while back in Minnesota in November for Thanksgiving Break I officially decided that it was time to move back & began the process of getting my MN teaching license back.

While I had listened to a couple previously, this new venture has also had me listening to a lot more personal development books on my hour+ long commute home from work every day.  I ran out of books just in time for my drive back to MN for Christmas.  So, I started listening to Goal Digger by Jenna Kutcher.  #Obsessed.  I'm only on episode 20 or 21 currently, but it was those few episodes that really put the nail in the coffin.  I am ready for 2019 to be different.  I'm ready for a change, for something bigger & better.

So, between all of that motivation, my love of Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project, & the new workout I'll be a part of launching this month, I landed on Transform as my word of the year.

This year I will be working on transforming different aspects of my life, and hopefully helping others do the same along the way.

There will be big changes coming to the blog, my Instagram, my business, & my life!

Each month on the blog I will be focusing on a different part of life to transform, first up, MINDSET!

Do you set goals/resolutions for the year, create a word of the year, or is Jan 1 just another day?

  3. i think my word will be Strong. i let weight training fall by the wayside in favour of muay thai all day, every day but i need to get back on a more balanced program. i started my S&C program today and this will continue 3x/week between MT training. I'm actually excited about this!

  4. That's a great word, and can be used in so many areas of your life! usually pick a word of the year but then forget it by March. And I don't do yearly resolutions; I mostly stick to monthly goals. I'm looking forward to seeing what you choose to transform each month! I

  5. Great choice for your word of the year! :) Wow, I didn't realize (or I possibly forgot?) that you were in the ER for high blood pressure, how scary! Kudos to you for actually making changes to live a happier, healthier life!
