Goodbye September, Hello October

The last day of September has arrived!  That means tomorrow is October.  One of the best months of all in my opinion.

Here are five things I'm looking forward to this month.

One
October means cooler weather finally.  Instead of high 80s & 90s, we're talking 70s.  I'm excited to walk out the door & not instantly need a shower.

Two
I recently mentioned that I had gotten myself back into a bad routine that consisted of work, class, homework, & little to no fun.  That changes now.  I plan on attacking my fall goals, 28 by 28, & 101 in 1001 with a vengeance.  This also means trying to check out more of the places on my Fort Worth Food, Dining in Dallas, & Fun in DFW lists.  This will be the month where I find a proper balance between school, work, & fun.

Three
In three weeks I'll be heading to Nashville for a weekend!  I'm so excited.  I've been to/through Nashville twice but I've never spent any real time there.  How that's possible I don't quite know.  So if any of y'all have some must see hot spots let me know!  We'll be there a partial day Friday, all of Saturday, & a partial day on Sunday.

Four
Nashville is my 28th birthday present to me.  27 was Chicago & 26 was San Antonio & Memphis.  I'm ready for 28.  For awhile it bothered me.  It used to bother me that my parents got married at 26 & had me at 28 and I was nowhere near those.  Now, it doesn't bother me as much.  Sometimes I wish I had more figured out than I feel like I do most times, but I'm ready to see what 28 brings.  I feel like it's going to be a good year for me.

Five
I haven't actually dressed up for Halloween in a few years.  There's still something about it that's kind of fun though.  If I'm still working at my current job I get to dress up that whole weekend.  If I'm not working there maybe I'll get one of those days off & will actually get to pass candy out since I live in a neighborhood with lots of kids.

  2. I'm so happy that the cooler temps are here! I always try to go away for my Birthday even if it is just for one day. Don't worry about figuring things out, they have a way of working themselves out. So don't fret, it just causes wrinkles!

  3. I am LOVING the cooler temps! Yesterday I was walking the dog and actually felt cold for a second! Haha. It's so crazy how many of us are going to Nashville around the same time! It's not a big part of our trip, but we'll be there in two weeks!

  4. Honestly, I wonder if most people - of any age - have a lot of stuff figured out. My parents are in their 50s and they don't always have perfect answers to everything. I met my husband and married him at age 22, but if I had not met him, I would rather be alone instead of with someone who does not make me happy.

  5. I had this idea growing up that I would be married by 26 or 28 and it almost happened, but I'm SO glad it didn't. I feel like I definitely dodged a bullet there; like Robin said, it's better to be single than stuck with someone who doesn't make you happy. So jealous of your Nashville trip- can't wait to hear all about it! Unfortunately all I really know about places there are the ones I've seen on the show lol.
