Ready For The Long Weekend

Hey y'all!  I hope you had a great week!  I'm on my way to Houston today for a couple of days to visit with some old friends.  I'l catch up on blogs whenever I can while I'm gone & for sure when I return.  Have a fun & safe Easter weekend.  Linking up with Amanda!

What I Was Up To
Monday went by extremely fast.  I gave my kids a map & vocab assignment that I didn't quite realize was as long as it was so it took them longer than I expected.  I actually love when that happens because down time brings out the chaos.  During my conference period I watched the final episode of 13 Reasons Why & basically just sobbed at my desk.  For those of you that haven't watched it yet I won't ruin it, even though it's known from the beginning, there was a part that I could not bring myself to watch in the last one.  And even just listening to it made me cry & want to throw up.  A lot of my kids have or are watching it.  I wish it wasn't so graphic & 13 hours long so that we could watch it in school & actually talk about it.  Because of our day off awhile back due to a power outage, rather than use our remaining bad weather day, we had the option of using a personal day, not getting paid, or staying after for so many days in 15, 30, or 60 min increments.  In the end I chose the hour so I could get it over with quicker.  So, I had to stay until 4.  Which really isn't the end of the world or super late, but considering I get to school around 6:45 & I'm done with students at 1:20, staying 2.5 hours longer after I'm done with kids feels long.  When I got home again I was bored & decided to download Tinder & Match again (the fact that it was because I was bored is the exact reason I gave up dating in the first place...it shouldn't be a cure for boredom...)

THE BLOG: I recapped my first weekend with no plans in a very long time

Tuesday I set up a potential date with a guy from Match for that night.  However, it fell through.  Which in the end was just fine with me.  There comes a point in time after I get home from work that I do not want to leave my apartment, for any reason, so instead I went for a walk around the lake behind my apartment & then made myself some grilled cheese.  I stayed late at work yet again & tried starting a new series on Netflix.  It's about PBR however, the first episode at least was about Brazilian bull riders so a lot of it wasn't in English & I was also trying to do other stuff so it didn't make for a good background show.

THE BLOG: I shared my accomplishments for the first 100 days of 2017

Wednesday I was feeling so lazy & tired.  I had slept like crap the night before so I set my alarm for 5:15 not even pretending like I was going to try to wake up at 5.  Our grading period ended on Thursday so I started my A day kids on a immigration simulation & then gave them a work day so they could get anything they needed for my class or other classes done before then.  I watched Jim Gaffigan stand up while staying late & changed into comfy clothes the second I got home.  I wasn't even going to pretend I was going to do anything.  I didn't even go for a walk.  I made sure to get my mile in by walking to get my mail & then taking the long way back.  Then it was Mad Men & bed for me.  I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this show.  I'm definitely not in OMG can't stop watching mode, but I don't hate it enough to stop watching yet either.  Because it was National Grilled Cheese Day, ok really because it's what I had on hand to eat, I made another bacon & jalapeno grilled cheese for supper.

THE BLOG: I did my first round of Currently since November

Thursday I really thought it was going to be a rough day.  My first period class was off the wall.  Luckily though my 2nd period made up for them by being angels.  Just like with my A day kids I had them do an immigration simulation & then gave them a work day.  I left work at 1:30 so I could go get new brakes.  Class was cancelled for the night which meant my vacation truly did start at 1:30 rather than 6:30-7 at night.  When I got home from the mechanic I had to wash all my dishes, pack, & then clean out all of my kitchen cupboards so they could do pest control while I'm out of town.

THE BLOG: I got real & shared why it was time I chose me

  4. Maybe you will have a good experience with Match this time (or Tinder, but I hear so many bad things about it). I tried to get the free trial of eHarmony when I was single, but they rejected me.

  5. There are 2 options when I get home: stay in what I'm already wearing (work or workout clothes, whatever I arrive home in) or make the trek upstairs to change into "comfortable clothes" which often happens to be pjs. #notsorry
I have had to put a bra on to go on a pack walk with the dogs and that was pretty bad, but a sacrifice for the dogs.
