I'm doing this week's Friday Favorites differently. I don't know if I'll stick with this format, go back to the old one, or change it up from time to time. I'm still linking up with Amanda! I know that blog land has been quieter than normal this week due to Christmas being this weekend, but for those of you that are still around & reading, I hope that you had a great week & have an amazing weekend!
What I Did
On Monday I went shopping with my mama so she could finish up some last minute shopping. For lunch we stopped at Granite City Brewery. I hadn't been there in years & it was every bit as good as I remembered if not even better. I got their Turkey Overlake sandwich & one of their signature craft beers. When we got back home I sent out a quick email about the job I interviewed for on Friday before my mama & I, along with my daddy, headed back out to pick up a couple of things from some old family friends that are moving & then went out to dinner at Pine Brook Inn which I had never been to before. I had the Inferno Burger & it was amazing.
On Tuesday I went shopping yet again but this time with my daddy. Somehow a few years ago I wound up as the mediator between the two of them when it comes to them buying presents for each other. Basically it's my job to keep each of them in check making sure no one out does the other one. It's a stressful job & apparently the oldest is the one to take care of it. We met my mama for lunch at a diner in my hometown & then when I got home I made chocolate chip banana bread & then got some blogging & Instagram stuff done before meeting my friend Kristie for supper.
On Wednesday I drove to the cities to meet up with my friend Alicia for lunch. We ate at Ole Piper Inn, which I had never been to before, making that the 17th new bar/restaurant I've tried since my birthday. I really should have aimed higher when I made my 29 by 29 list. I said I wanted to try 24 new places but just 2 months in I'm at 17...I wouldn't even have to try somewhere new every month in order to finish. I took a nap when I got home because I'm old. That night I went out to supper with my parents & brother at the Mexican restaurant in town.
