Christmas Eve Eve
I couldn't even tell you what I did Friday morning... so before I jump into what I did that afternoon/evening, I'll start with the recipe for those pickle roll ups that was promised on Instagram.
Jalapeno Ranch Dip
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz sour cream
1 pkg ranch dip mix
1/2 bunch of cilantro
4 oz diced jalapenos
Place all ingredients in a food processor until well mixed.
Pickle Roll Ups
2 large jars of baby dill pickles
2 large packages of corned beef (some people use turkey or ham)
Jalapeno Ranch Dip
Spread dip on meat, place pickle(s) on slice of meat, roll up. If the pickles are small I usually cut each piece of meat in half first & then place a pickle on there. If the pickles are large then I put one pickle on the slice of meat & then cut in half once rolled up.
On Friday it became apparent why I'm not a fashion blogger...and now you all also know why I'm not a food blogger...
On with my day! My mom & I finally decorated the Christmas tree & then I made pickle rolls ups. At 3 I had a hair appointment to get my hair trimmed. I haven't done anything to it since this summer, where I just got a trim, & before that it was LAST December when I dyed it. Even knowing I was only going to have 1.5-2 inches cut off because of damaged ends I started having a slight panic attack waiting for my turn. I love my long hair & while it grows pretty fast, 4-5 inches a year, I still lost some serious time with that 1.5-2 inches. I made her straighten it at the end so it'd look longer. Once home I settled in with some Winter Jack Daniels & my book until my mom wanted to do a puzzle. Fun fact: puzzles don't calm me down or relax me...in fact it's the opposite...they stress me the hell out. So why I have finish a 1000 piece puzzle on my 101 in 1001 list I don't know.
Christmas Eve
I finally wrapped my presents Christmas Eve morning. nothing like waiting until the very last moment. While waiting to go celebrate Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family I watched the end of Sixteen Candles, When Harry Met Sally, Serendipity, & the Vikings/Packers game...so basically I cried a lot. That evening we went over to my aunt & uncle's house for supper.
Christmas Day
I was so tired Christmas morning. We had stayed at my aunt & uncle's house WAY past my old lady bedtime the night before. My brother & his girlfriend showed up and then we ate breakfast & opened up presents. I got stuff for journaling, some books, & then money for furniture when I move in February. After presents my brother & his girlfriend headed out for her Christmas while my parents & I got ready to head over to my mom's side of the family for lunch. The weather started getting really bad, a freezing rain thunderstorm, so we all started leaving to go home about the same time. We spent the night watching John Wayne movies & just recuperating from the holidays.
I hope that y'all had a great Christmas weekend!
Sounds like it was a festive but relaxing weekend which is the best! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

DeleteI got my hair cut on Friday too! Although I had the opposite reaction and was like PLEASE cut it short, haha! (Ok, not that short, but shorter than the last time I went!) Sounds like a fun and festive holiday! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for haircuts! I once had my hair chopped from the middle of my back to my chin in college but I haven't done anything like that since.
