Back To Life Back To Reality

Happy Post-Thanksgiving Monday!  AKA Cyber Monday!  I haven't even looked at deals.  I probably should.  Except I already bought my mom's present on Friday, my brother & I are getting matching tattoos, & per usual my dad has no list yet because all he wants is "peace on Earth & good will towards men."  Helpful, real helpful haha.  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend & that you also have an awesome week!  Linking up with Biana!

Friday

Friday morning began the adventure back to Texas.  When I first moved to Texas & I would leave Minnesota, I cried EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.  Then it got easier.  I didn't really cry when I left this time because I knew I'd be back in exactly 4 weeks, but it's definitely gotten hard again.

Luckily the drive was uneventful because I was running on about 4 hours of sleep.  I stopped in Missouri for gas, a bathroom break, & lunch at Dairy Queen.  Just like the last time we had stopped at that same DQ, they came through for Nash.  I was at the window to pay & they were like "would you like a free ice cream cone, your dog looks like he does..."  Of course he does!  He loves food!

I eventually got to Kansas, got all settled into my hotel, & ordered some Blaze Pizza.  They apparently now have delivery which is awesome!  This time I decided to create my own pizza.  It was so good as always however sadly, luckily?, I wasn't all that hungry so I only ate half of it before getting a little bit of work done & passing out!

Saturday
I got a later start than I wanted on Saturday because Nash did not sleep well the night before, meaning *I* did not sleep well the night before.  I slept until almost 7 which was fine because I wanted to get breakfast there which didn't start until 7 anyway.  So I packed up, got some breakfast, got a little more work done, & hit the road.  I didn't want to leave too early, whereas I normally do, because I wanted to hit up Farm Girl in Ada, Oklahoma & they didn't open until 10 & were only about 3.5 hours away.  I got a Nash for Nash... which I just learned upon linking it is actually named Gracie... I guess I can stop calling it Puppy.  I also got myself a T-shirt.  I started following them on Instagram & since they were sort of on my way back to Texas I wanted to be sure to stop in!  Especially because it was Small Business Saturday!  They have 20% off for Cyber Monday today as well as free shipping on orders over $50.  They have some really cute stuff so you should definitely check them out!

Once we got back to Texas I did just enough grocery shopping to get me through Sunday morning & then planted myself on the couch to get some work done & start season 6 of New Girl on Netflix.

Sunday
Sunday was pretty much dedicated to getting work done.  I got up early, put my Vikings jersey on, & got to work while watching more New Girl.  I did get my grocery shopping for the week done as well as some meal prep.  I am starting a second round of the 21 Day Fix today, with a 3 Day Refresh thrown in for part of the week.  I also managed to get some laundry & dishes done.  Overall a pretty productive Sunday!

Just before the game I text Bumble Boy, name courtesy of Andrea.  We'll see how that goes, if it goes at all.  He did respond to my initial text about the game but then not again.  To be fair my text back didn't warrant a response & he was out at the bar with friends watching the game, but I'm still not going to chase after a boy.

I stayed up for the entire Vikings v Packers game.  I am not a fan of the night games.  I am too old to stay up that late & then have to still get up at 5 am the next day.  It was so worth it though.  The game had me just as stressed as I was worried all day that it would.  They scored, we scored, they scored, we scored, we scored, they scored.  Luckily we scored more & in the end won!  We're still behind the Bears but the gap between us & first place is closing while the gap is widening for the Packers.  And in the end, that's all that matters to me!

  1. So we don't watch foosball, but Husband insisted on watching the Clemson vs USC game. It was actually a good game.. I mean, we KNEW who was going to win, but Husband kept yelling at the TV like we didn't know.

Also, Thanksgiving break already being over makes me sad in my soul.

  3. Since this is my first visit to your blog, may I ask what brought you to Texas? I know how it is when visiting home...we've been gone for almost 8 years and I still get teary-eyed when we leave to come back to Texas. Have a great one!

  4. Awww, I'm sad that you cry when you leave home. I feel like I was probably the same way when I was working CA though, so I do understand. I'm glad your drive was uneventful and that you missed the blizzard. My physical therapist was driving back from Iowa and said they were just ahead of it on the drive back. You both were on my mind all weekend because that's such a long drive to make on your own, never mind with bad weather! LOL I think I was thinking a similar name for the boy.
