Happies

1. I only had to be at work 3 days this week.

2. I woke up at 2:30 am to see the "blood" moon.

3. Chipotle happened

4. Homegirl over here changed her very own tail light...with no assistance...whatsoever.

5. My students showered me with gifts (ie. food) on Wednesday.

6. My friends flew in from Minnesota.

1. I got rejected from another job up by Dallas...

This Is The Week That Wouldn't End

J is for Just Because

I am feeling a little blog overload & couldn't come up with anything but Jobs (& I just did an interview post yesterday) and Juicing (& I don't even juice...) so instead you get just because...and just because this is the only thing I feel like today here's my week's happies, crappies, & Friday five.

Happies

1. I was tweeting relentlessly during the ACMs & someone retweeted something insinuating that Eric Church is a douchebag for wearing sunglasses during his performance...I of course quoted it saying that he's not a douchebag because a woman has got to stand by her man.  Turns out the original tweet was by a Texas country artist who then followed me, so I followed him back...turns out I was his 4000th follower so he's sending me some merch!  It pays to speak your mind!

2. I switched out my scentsy warmer (which the wax is actually from Walmart cause I'm cheap like that) to lilac.  It's my favorite one & it reminds me of spring/summer back home.  My parents have lilac bushes that line our front lawn next to the road.

3. I won Ashley's 31 Giveaway!  I've never won a blog giveaway before!  I ordered a cute little wallet from Lisa's 31 page.  I have been in desperate need for a wallet for so long but I haven't been able to find one that I like.  I ordered the little wristlet attachment because that is a requirement for my wallets.

4. Kathy was right...which really isn't surprising...I headed back to a trail (to walk not run but whatever) 100x better, prettier, more exciting than my stupid sidewalk/road route I've been doing.

Crappies

1. I had to stay late at work multipe times this week for people who hadn't taken their midterm yet, a meeting, & after school detention.

2. I woke up on Tuesday thinking it was Wednesday or Thursday... (this actually continued all week...I never thought it was the day that it actually was)

Friday Five

The Weeks Are Flying By

Happies

1. I got to wear jeans to work 3 out of the 5 days this week!

2. State testing meant movies all day long Mon & Tue.

3. I bought my WeFest tickets!


4. I got an email response from an AP at one of the schools that I applied to/interviewed at a job fair for...even after crappy #2...she forwarded it on to the AP that's over Social Studies & then we bonded over the district I teach in.


5. This week went by even faster than the last one if that's possible.  9 weeks from today the 2013-2014 school year comes to an end!
 

6. I love when my seniors from last year come to see me.  I had 2 come visit on Thursday.

I remember last year yelling at me seniors all the time & then the first day I had to come to work & they weren't here because seniors get out early I broke down & cried in my room cause I already missed them.

Crappies
1. Mother Nature is playing some cruel joke on me...


2. Mr. Hipster emailed the same principal that I did & got a response within 30 min...I didn't get one after a week!  Wondering why, I went back to the email I sent...home girl over here made a typo.  Instead of Mr. I put Ms. 

Friday Five

5 things I'm looking forward to in April:

Austin TX with a couple friends from MN for a night...6th Street here we come! (Hulahooping on 6th Street back in 2012)

One of my friends is having a crawfish boil for her birthday...MMM crawfish. (Last year she made a crawfish out of balloons for her party)

Said friend is having her crawfish boil themed as a White Trash Bash (this photo is from March of 2009 at a white trash party we had in college)

One of my best friends that I worked with last year is coming to visit from Chicago.

I'm also going to San Antonio for part of a day with my friends from MN.

27 Weeks Down 9 To Go

Happies

1. While I haven't particularly loved these last couple seasons I was relieved to find out that this week wasn't the last episode of HIMYM but next week is.

2. I'm going to another interview at a job fair Saturday morning & the district just posted an actual social studies position!

3. Approximately 1/3 of my kids were absent during their Tue/Wed midterms which means that's what they had to do on Thur/Fri.  That meant that while they had to take the test with my co-teacher the rest of us got to sit in my classroom & watch a movie.

4. This week FLEW by & I am a okay with that.

Crappies

1. There is an insane amount of pollen & it is making my allergies flare up like crazy.

2. My body cannot decide if it's hungry or not...some days I'm starving all day long...other days I go to make food because it's meal time & my body is just like no...we are too full for food even if I haven't really eaten.

3. It doesn't matter that I've been going to bed at a fairly normal time & doing my usual stay in bed an extra 5-10 minutes after my alarm goes off I am still so exhausted when I get up.  I've also been having the craziest & most intense dreams lately.

4. Occasionally, for various reasons, we will watch movies in class (see #3 above why we are this week) & my kids get whiny.  Seriously they are never happy.  We aren't even watching a documentary...they are legit hollywood films but they whine because it's not what they want to watch.  Listen children, you're lucky we're even watching a movie...
