Happy Friday!! I hope everyone had a great week & has something fun planned for the weekend! My brother will be coming into town this evening & then we'll be spending a few days in the DFW area before taking a little road trip back to Minnesota.
Because it's summer & I now actually do more than just wake up, go to work, go home, go to sleep, repeat, and because I've slowly been sliding back into it anyway, for at least the summer I'll be bringing back my regular Friday Five/Friday Favorites & linking up with Amanda.
1. From The Blog
Monday: I linked up with Biana to recap my first weekend of summer break as well as with Andrea for another round of TBB Asks.
Tuesday: I recapped how I did on my spring goals. (Hint: really well)
Wednesday: I linked up with Anne & Sarah to share what I'm currently up to this month
Thursday: I wrote my first "Dear Future Husband" letter (a 101 in 1001 goal)

3. What I Was Up To
Monday: My friend Katherine came over & we had a girls' day/night. We had planned on spending the day by the pool drinking margaritas but the weather had other plans. We drank about one margarita & then the rain set in. So instead we went to the mall so she could get a new phone & to Cavenders so I could get a new pair of boots with my gift card. That night we got Wingstop, watched chick flicks, & drank White Claw.
Tuesday: Not a whole happened on Tuesday. Katherine & I went out for breakfast tacos before she headed home & I made the 45 minute journey to the vet so that I could get new flea & tick and heart worm medicine for Nash as well as set up for his annual shots in July.
Wednesday: We avoided the heat at all costs. We went for an early morning walk so that we could get our exercise in before it got insanely hot. We also made a trip to McDonalds so we could get some ice cream cones. Other than that, with the exception of when I went to go get a manicure & pedicure, we sat around inside with the AC & the fans going.
Thursday: Nash & I spent most of the day avoiding the heat again. Thanks to Laura telling me that Friday Night Lights is on Prime, since they took it off Netflix, I started binge watching that again. I did go to Chuy's to meet up with some of my co-workers/other coaches from work. I also invited the new head softball coach so that not only could the two of us meet, but she could also meet some of the other people that she'll be working with. She seems really cool & I think we'll get along just fine.

4. Random Things & Thoughts
-Has ANYBODY figured out how to solve this whole not getting email notifications for blog comments?? Having to go into my blog to randomly check & hoping that they get notified when I reply is getting really old really fast.
-I know Steph asked the question on her Instagram story but people that use Disqus, do you like it & was the switch easy? If yes to both, please share your ways with me!
-I am currently going back & forth between becoming the full time softball assistant or sticking with volleyball in the fall & softball in the spring. It's basically going to come down to money & scheduling... doing only one sport would be nice, taking a $4,000 pay cut would not.

Have not figured out comment issue on wordpress. I just installed a new plugin, so we'll see. I had looked at moving to Disqus but I felt like it was hard for wordpress. I might not have had enough time to process what I was reading on how to do it either, so I'm not going to deny that it could have been user-induced, lol.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you've done your first week of summer. That's exactly what it's for! Have fun with your brother!
Thanks! I tried reading it too & felt overwhelmed. I suppose I'll just wait it out with everyone else!
DeleteBlogger says still working on it but yes, so annoying. I have toyed with installing Discus too but not sure how easy to install. I am hearing it will get fixed but when? lol! Woohoo to off and enjoying sweet summer! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI suppose I can try to be patient a little longer. At least we're all in this together.
DeleteThat pool looks so inviting!! Hope you are having a great summer!
ReplyDeleteI am lucky to have a nice pool at my apartment! I think it's one of the things I'll miss the most, & perhaps one of the very few things actually, that I'll miss when I get a house.
DeleteUhhh, there's an issue with getting email notifications? I didn't notice. I was receiving emails while we were away about comments. Maybe not everyone is effected? I tossed around the idea of Discus around, but never ended up doing it because laziness.
ReplyDeleteHave you been getting them for your post today?? I was getting them up until the last few days of May. Looking at comments my post from May 29 was the first one where I had to start replying on here. Yeah, laziness is what got me with changing to it too.
DeleteI like Disqus a lot--it made it so much easier to make sure people were getting notified of my responses. I switched over in like 2015, though, so I honestly don't remember what the process was like. It must not have been that bad then, since it didn't traumatize me? haha
ReplyDeleteIf the whole no getting email notifications isn't fixed by the time that I get back to MN, I think I'm going to try to make the switch.
DeleteI've used Disqus and I've not used Disqus. The switch was REALLY easy--it even allowed for me to import all the comments that already existed on my blog (which was nice). I like replying via emails and I never figured that part out with Disqus, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
ReplyDeleteI tried doing the switch earlier, and granted I was super tired, but I could not figure it out. I'll try again when well rested ha.
