Goodbye July

Holy we're already down 7 months in 2017 Batman!  Historically this week in history marks my last week of freedom, celebrated in style with a week at WeFest.  This year it does not.  For the first time in almost a decade I'm not going.  Instead I'm already back at work.  Last week volleyball camp started.  This week volleyball tryouts start as well as new teacher orientation for my new district.  It's a little bittersweet.  I still don't think it's set in yet.  Anyway, I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend!  I'm still on mine because tryouts/high school practice can't start for volleyball until August 1st.  I'll be spending today at the dog park, watching The Office, getting some online training for coaching done, & maybe, just maybe, a bunch of blog posts ready for the upcoming month.  Cross your fingers for me people.  Linking up with Biana!

Friday
My 4 day weekend started on Friday.  I was going to take Nash to the dog park but it was ridiculously hot so we just went for our normal morning walk & then played inside all day.  Sometimes if I can distract him with something to chew on he'll let me cuddle him like a baby for a bit.  His face looks happy but I assure you at this point he was actually starting to squirm & wanting to hop down to the floor.  That night my friend Raeann & I did dance lessons again at Red River in Dallas.  I'm thinking next summer I/we need to start them right away so that by this point we can be pros.  I'm not terrible by any means but I have a ways to go to improve.  It doesn't help that everyone seems to dance differently.  We wound up staying until 2 & then getting hot dogs from a little cart outside.  Truck food is often the best food.

Saturday
Mr. Nash finally got to go to his first dog park.  I don't know why I didn't take him sooner.  I live less than 5 minutes away from one.  He made new friends, got to run around, & in turn when we got home he was all tired so I got to accomplish stuff.  That evening we drove to Helen & Caleb's for Helen's birthday.  Nash got to play with their dog, who no longer hates him, & we went to an escape room, Escape Expert in Plano, & out to supper.  I had never done an escape room before but it was a lot of fun.  For supper we went to Jin Korean BBQ, also in Plano.  I had also never had Korean BBQ before but it was SO good.  Even better was the fact that it's $20 for all you can eat.  I got my $20 worth for sure.  I also booked a hotel room for my "birthday" weekend in October.  My birthday isn't until October 23 but the first weekend that month I'm going down to Austin for Austin City Limits... sort of.  I don't have tickets to the actual event but I once went during South By South West without tickets & it was still a blast just because of the atmosphere.

Sunday
We went to the dog park three times on Sunday.  Partly because it was finally a really nice day, mostly because we were both getting restless.  We went to the park near me in the morning & played for awhile.  That afternoon we went to a different one like 15 minutes from where I live because someone had mentioned it that morning saying it was a good one because it had lots of trees & shade.   There weren't that many dogs there & Nash didn't really feel like playing so we left.  He did meet a Corgi baby on our way out though.  That night I was feeling restless again so we went back to the original dog park where he played for about an hour & a half before I called it bedtime.  Normally at bedtime I have to put him in his crate & then throw a blanket over it so he'll go to sleep.  This time he walked right into his little playpen & promptly fell asleep.  I let him sleep there for about an hour & a half until I was ready for bed & then made him go into his crate.

I was feeling a little bad because I wanted to take him to the dog park again this morning, & I will be, but I wanted to get this typed up first.  He always wakes up between 6-6:30 so we got up, I took him out, we each ate our breakfasts, & then told him to play while I typed this really quick & then we could go.  As I type this at 7:30 in the morning he's sleeping under my feet... so I guess I don't need to feel too bad about him getting antsy because he's still tuckered out...

Happy Monday everyone!!

    1. I should have been taking him to the park sooner ha. Now we'll just have to try to go after work from time to time. We went this morning for about an hour & a half and he's been napping for almost 2 hours now.

  6. Damn he's so cute. I purposely took our beasts on a walk at 5pm last week when it was super warm just to wear them out. It took 36 hours for them to recharge. #notsorry.
