It's May! How in the world did this happen?? It's like we all blinked & suddenly 2017 is almost half over. I remember at the end of 2016 claiming that 2017 was going to be my year & I feel like it's going by so fast I haven't had time to do anything Earth shattering. I hope that y'all had a fantastic weekend & have a great first week of May. Linking up with Miss Biana!
Friday
Friday was a chill day all around. In class we just watched movies because state testing is upon us & when you don't see half of your classes for an entire week, there's not much else you can do with the other half. My first & last classes watched the new Jungle Book while my middle class watched Blank Check because a girl in there had never seen it & since it was her birthday I let her pick. Later that same girl & her friends brought me a piece of her cake. It was amazing. While my kids watched movies I applied for new jobs & ordered groceries for the following week to be delivered Saturday morning. After work I stopped at the store to get a 6 pack & a bottle of wine so I could watch the draft. Unfortunately, I had to watch it on my phone so it wasn't going so well. I made it through the Vikings' pick, took a little nap, then decided to order a pizza & watch more Scandal. I'm almost done with what is on Netflix & I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my life after...
Saturday
Shenanigans day! In the morning I made some deviled eggs because I had the stuff & hadn't had them in forever. I then made a Target run in search for a new shirt & some coffee cups. Instead I got a shirt, a romper, 2 dresses, & no cups. They were having a sale... Then I watched some more Scandal before heading off to meet my friend. First stop crawfish. We went to Blu Crab Seafood House & Bar. When I first moved to Fort Worth I lived right by this place but I never actually went. The crawfish was unimpressive. It had WAY too much garlic. Like it was covered in it. Afterwards we popped into Taps & Caps but didn't stay. Instead we went to Hop Fusion for some beer. My friend's cousin was playing a show in Dallas so we headed that direction to find some food & then see the show. We ate at Angry Dog in Deep Ellum. They're rated as having one of the best burgers in Dallas. Guess what? I wasn't impressed. I loved my bloody mary, & the jalapeno poppers were good, but the burger was whatever. I've had way better. Before the show at Dirty Thirty we of course had to make a pit stop at Steel City Pops for dessert. My friend's cousin was filling in for an opening band called Odd Folk. They were really good. We went & played in the rain in between sets. Well I danced around in the rain...they put equipment away... We went back in to watch the second band but I couldn't deal. They looked like they were on meth & sounded awful so we left. Then came the what now...which led to lots of suggestions, lots of things being shot down, & a few "let's just go home then!" Sometimes shenanigans are stressful. Even though neither of us were hungry we went to Fuel City for some elote & then a bar called DoubleWide. I may have fallen in love with that bar. It's a little hole in the wall that plays old school country music. Again some solo dancing outside may have happened on my part... Then it was off to a comedy show at Hyena's. I had never been to a comedy club before but it was a lot of fun! I know the poster says Chad Prather but I took that just because I want to see him. That's not who was actually there when we went. It was getting super later at that point so then it was time to go home. I'm not even sure what time I actually got home but I was in bed immediately.
Sunday
No pictures were taken. Why? Because here is what I did. Slept in, made coffee, watched Scandal, brought my friend to the airport, watched Scandal, went to bed.
