...or 3. I recently started talking to a few different guys online & when a couple of them wanted to set up dates I decided it would be a great idea to try to go on a different first date every night this week. And I did, sort of. I was supposed to have one yesterday but it got rescheduled for tomorrow. So instead of giving you my normal, boring, I went to work, took a nap, hung out at home rundown, I'm going to recap my dates for you! I hope y'all enjoy your weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there! Linking up with Miss Amanda!
What I Was Up To
What I Was Up To
Monday I had a date with Mr. Vet Tech. The two of us met up at Dave & Buster's around 7. We each got a beer & a burger and talked for a little bit before it was time to play some games. We took turns picking which games to play until we ran out of points to play. We played everything from air hockey to big buck hunter to connect four to rock em sock em robots. Neither of us did that well at anything so we didn't have all that many tickets so we decided not to cash them out. The date was fun. He was cute & nice. I didn't really feel a huge spark or anything but he said he wanted to go out again so I decided I'd go out on a second date with him if we could figure out a time that worked for both of us.
Tuesday I had a date with Mr. Can't Hold A Conversation. Y'all it was so damn awful. We went to Fireside Pies for pizza which neither one of us had been to before. The pizza was the ONLY good thing about the date. The pizza was really good. So side note: if you're ever in the DFW area, there are a few different locations, stop in. I promise you won't regret it...unlike how I felt about the date. Trying to talk to this guy was like pulling teeth. The man was cute but looks get you approximately nowhere when the conversation can barely get off the ground. I'd ask questions & he'd short answer them. He'd ask a few questions & I'd try to answer and tell stories to expand on them...nothing. Holy. Shit. Just reliving it in my head is painful. There was a whole lot of staring at each other & awkwardly smiling and/or laughing. We both knew the date sucked & yet it felt never ending. We were there an hour & a half tops. After we finished the pizza I thought we'd just leave. Nope! More awkward silence. Finally at like 8:30 he was like we can go if you want. Yes. I do want. Then in the parking lot he was like I'll talk to you later. In my head I was like no you won't, & please don't. Instead, I smiled, waved, & said goodbye. *shudder*

Wednesday I had a date with Mr. Slightly Annoying. I was actually supposed to have a date with him on Monday...but when he didn't get back to me & Mr. Vet Tech asked I said yes. So then I tried to move it to Tuesday. When he still couldn't get back to me officially & Mr. Shitty Conversationalist asked, I said yes. I then moved it to Wednesday. So why did it keep getting moved? He couldn't give me a set plan because of work. Whatever I understand that except he was trying to set up a date AND work overtime. No, you have to pick. If you want to work OT that's great, but don't try to plan a date. If you want to have a date, don't try to do OT & get to a date on time. Have y'all seen those facebook videos of people texting? Like where two people are trying to have a conversation & they start typing what they want to say a few times before settling on something non-confrontational. That was me in the hour or two leading up to our date. He wouldn't/couldn't give me a time. He wouldn't pick a place. He wanted to know if it was cool if he just came straight from work without showering or changing because he was hungry & didn't want to have to drive home. He's a mechanic by the way. So I'm dreading the date but I'm not one to bail last minute. It was fine. I mean the man could actually hold a conversation & there was baseball on TV. But there was 0 spark so between that & how I annoyed I had been the past couple of day, especially the day of said date, I decided there would not be a second. Plus, he tried to subtly imply that he wanted to spend the night a couple of times so he wouldn't have to drive home... we don't live that far apart...
Thursday I was supposed to have a date but a family obligation came up. He called the day before our date to tell me, ask if it was ok, & then we rescheduled for tomorrow. I had a tentative replacement date set up Thursday morning for that evening. We were just going to meet at a bar & watch baseball. However, a time & place was never established and around 4:30 we just stopped talking. I was grateful. I wound up taking a nap, going for a walk, & just relaxing at home which was really nice. I was supposed to have a date with a guy last Saturday but when I woke up with a migraine & had prom later, I asked if we could reschedule for the next day. He never responded. He text me Thursday evening. All it said was "hi Bri" I didn't even have his number anymore because I had just gone through my contacts & deleted a bunch of unnecessary numbers. I had to look it up on Facebook to see who it was. I never responded. Yes, I am the one who initially "blew off" the date by asking to reschedule but I never got a single response. A hi a week later isn't going to get me to want to reschedule again. I am done wasting time on people.

ReplyDeleteBha ha ha, I'm with B, Nr. Vet Tech...yeah I can maybe see it!!! Goof luck tomorrow and Happy Mothers Day to your Mama for creating such an amazing daughter in you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! One of these days one of them has to work out! If not I'll just start my own little farm haha. Have an awesome weekend!
DeleteThe Vet Tech sounds kinda like it's worth pursuing... fingers crossed for that one. And yes, Fireside Pies is GOOOD. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst dates can be so fun...but so bad too. Glad you had at least one good one with the vet tech ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to think about Mr. Can't Hold a Conversation...I am surprised that it lasted an hour and a half! Mr. Slightly Annoying reminds me of a guy who I went on one date with. He suddenly left because he really needed to study for a final exam. Then why did he even ask me out? I hope you have fun with Vet Tech next time. To be honest, there was no "spark" during the first three or four dates with my husband. But now we have been together for seven years.
ReplyDeleteMr Vet Tech sounds like something you should pursue. You ever never know...sometimes the spark takes time to arrive. Hope your date tomorrow is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love reading date "reviews" so thank you for posting them. I think Mr. Vet Tech sounds awesome and I think you should go on date number 2 with it.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, lots of different stories here. Of any so far, I would definitely give Mr Vet Tech another chance...maybe an opportunity to get a few more tickets and see what he chooses as a prize. I bet you could learn a lot about someone based on what they pick ;)
ReplyDeleteMeg, Borrowed Heaven
I'm with the other girls on maybe you would feel a spark with Mr. Vet Tech later. Can't Hold a Conversation would drive me crazy.
ReplyDeleteSo many adventures!! Here's hoping for a better date tomorrow or a great second date with Vet Tech!!
ReplyDeleteOh I don't miss dating. LOL!
ReplyDeleteGirl it is the worst! Lol
DeleteDating was my least favorite experience of my twenties. It amazes me how many guys have zero personality and can't hold a conversation. Maybe Mr Vet Tech will work out. You never know! First dates can be stressful and slightly awkward. Good luck with the rescheduled date.
ReplyDeleteOh man what an adventurous week! :) At least it started off strong!!
