I napped more this weekend than I have in a really long time. That means I was way less productive this weekend than I should have been. Luckily it's a short work week for me because one of my friends is coming into town on Friday. I'm also going to try to leave during my conference today & tomorrow so I can get some extra time in for unpacking & grad school work. I hope that y'all had a great weekend & your Monday isn't too rough! Linking up with Biana!
Friday
Friday
Friday started out a pretty good day. Despite not feeling the best I wasn't tired & I was in a great mood. My last class of the day kind of killed that but other than that it was a pretty awesome Friday. I left work at 1:45 so I could head up to my new apartment & run a couple of errands. That's really where it started to hit the fan. I was supposed to pay my rent before moving in on Saturday & was also hoping that since the place had been vacant since Jan 31, they would let me have the keys a day early even if that meant paying for an extra day. Nope & nope. Not only would they not allow me to have my keys until the next day, I wasn't even able to pay. They don't take personal check or card, unless I use my card online. Well, that's all fine & dandy except they hadn't given me my tenant ID number yet so that I could pay online. I asked what time I'd be able to get my keys the next day...not until 10. Umm well I had movers set to be at my house somewhere between 7-9. So I called the moving company to see what we could work out. I was in such a mood that I was so happy when my friend Emily asked me to come over. What was supposed to be a night in with wine & appetizers turned into a night in with wine & appetizers followed by a night out at a local bar until nearly 2 am. I stopped at Whataburger by my house just before 2:30 in the morning & then promptly passed out.
Saturday
I had my alarm set for 7:30 in the morning because I was told that the movers would be calling me about then to let me know when they'd be arriving. I woke up just a little after 7 hating life. What kind of idiot stays out until 2:30 in the morning when they're moving the next day?? This girl that's who. Luckily I was paying people to do the moving for me & I don't have that much stuff. I got some more stuff done, found myself some dry cereal, & lots of water. I officially cannot hang. I wasn't necessarily hungover, I had one beer & one drink while we were out & quit fairly early, but I felt like death. The movers arrived, we they got everything loaded up & we were on our merry way. They got everything unloaded but we still had 20 minutes to kill before I could get my keys so we just sat in my parking lot until I was finally able to get them. Apparently there were 6 move ins happening that day but luckily I was 2nd in line so it didn't take too long. Once everything was inside I ordered a pizza, sat on my patio, & ate. The internet guy was supposed to arrive between 1-2 so I laid down for a bit until he showed up. Once he left I went right back to sleep. I'm pretty sure I took like 3 naps that day. Pre-pizza & nap I decided to check my mailbox & I found the best mail ever! I got my Stitch Fix AND Voxbox. I'll be reviewing both of those on Thursday.
Sunday
I had plans of being so productive on Sunday because I hadn't done much of anything on Saturday. Nope. I got most, but not all of my closet unpacked, & the rest of the stuff from my old place. However, I still have stuff in storage & didn't really unpack anything else. Instead I napped some more, made a Target run, painted my nails, sat down to read my book but ultimately sat on the phone with my friend in pretty much silence while we played Words with Friends together, & ordered a microwave (because apparently in 2017 some places still don't come with them??) I attempted to take a shower at my new place but had to put in a maintenance request because that sucker is shooting water EVERYWHERE! Like I screamed a little bit & then had to wipe up my bathroom with a towel. Fingers crossed they get that fixed today while I'm at work. All in all I had a very busy, yet unproductive, weekend. Now I need to get my butt in gear so I can have all of my grad school work done as well as have my apartment unpacked. Goals: school work done by tomorrow & unpacked by Thursday. Wish me luck!
On no, the water, I hope it gets fixed stat! Silly girl, you need your sleep but naps work and glad you're getting settled. Happy Monday cutie!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Before really looking around I told my mom that I was not going to move again until some man asked me to move in together. But then I couldn't figure out the fridge, right now my oven isn't working, I don't really have hot water in the shower, & the shower turns my bathroom into a water park so I called her again & was like NEVER MIND! Once they get it all fixed I'm sure it'll all be fine & I could stand living there longer than a year if need be.
DeleteMoving is tough - naps are needed! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

I so hate moving, especially with all the little problems that come up! I hope your water in the shower gets fixed ASAP!
ReplyDeleteMoving is rough with a capital woof! I fully support all the naps, and am super jealous! Enjoy your short week gurlie <3

Haha, I feel you on not being able to hang, I had a glass of wine and half a banana daiquiri one night, met my mom in the morning to go flower shopping and I felt like death all day long. I hope your water is fixed by now, have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not alone! Ha it's not fixed yet. I washed my hair in the kitchen sink. Fingers crossed they take care of that & my stove tomorrow.
DeleteUgh moving is definitely the worst! Hoping they fix the water for you soon, how frustrating! Loving that nail color though!
ReplyDeleteMoving is soooo stressful- but you're powering through! Sending you good vibes + hoping that water gets fixed soon!
