Slow Your Roll Summer

I can't believe that I've already been back in Minnesota for almost 2 full weeks now.  Where are June & summer going??  This was actually a rather uneventful week.  I have fun plans with a couple of different people today as well as a graduation party tomorrow but the first part of this week was pretty tame.

Linking up with Amanda & Amy.

One
Next month is my friend's bachelorette party.  I'm her maid of honor but with me living 1100 miles away I've felt pretty useless.  I was however able to make invitations for her bachelorette party & get them all mailed out this week.

Two
The first half of the week was really gloomy so when my mom & I met up for lunch I knew I had to get some soup.  Chicken Wild Rice is my absolute favorite soup, & while I could very easily make it in Texas, I seem to only ever have it while I'm in Minnesota.

Three
The very next day my mom had an appointment in my college town & since I had to drop my car off at the mechanic that morning, I went with her.  After appointment we went to Menards & then wandered around the mall for awhile.  Without first checking Victoria's Secret, I went & bought a bra at Pink.  Yes, I realize they're the same company.  I needed a bra for my way too many racerback tank tops & when Pink didn't have any left on sale, instead of going over to VS to look I went & bought one at full price.  Once I walked out of there I was not in the mood to deal with the mess that is the Semi-annual sale so instead of looking through their bins I just accepted my full price bra.  Whatever, it's cute.  For lunch we went to a Chinese buffet that I used to go to with my high school/college boyfriend all the time.  I hadn't been there in a good 6 years.  Mostly I'm obsessed with egg drop soup.  I need to figure out how to make it on my own.

Four
With 0 plans & super gloomy weather yet again on Wednesday I finally started another book.  I have been wanting to read this book for YEARS.  I first saw it on a blog that I used to read all the time.  I couldn't even tell you whose blog it was anymore because they also haven't been active in blogging for years.  Anyway, I got it for Christmas & have just now started reading it.

Five
I mean the pictures pretty much explain themselves but I'll go on... Tuesday this mouse had made a house in the mailbox.  He ran out when my mom opened the mailbox & then she knocked the nest out.  Thursday I go to check the mail, screamed a little, & walked away.  I tried to find a stick but it broke.  So I found a garden hoe.  No I didn't kill it... I tried to just grab the mail with my hand but when my hand would even get close he'd run at me.  So I grabbed the hoe, knocked the mail to the ground, & stuck that in my pocket.  I then kept knocking on the side hoping it would scare him & he'd run out...he didn't... So I just shut the door & walked away.  I don't need a mouse running at me.

  2. LOLZ to the #mouseadventures!
Isn't egg drop soup just broth with eggs in it? You just stir up the broth to break up the egg as it cooks? IDK, I didn't research this, I'm just thinking of the times that I've put an egg into my ramen noodles (the boil the water kind, not the styrofoam container kind) while it's cooking and the egg just kinda clumps up and breaks apart.

We actually went to Esprit while in Germany and it was the first time I've bought full priced clothes in... I don't even know how long. Although I think Teh German got 15% off for joining the "Friends of Esprit" club.

  4. Oh that little mouse is so cute. Although, I would have freaked out if I saw that in my mailbox. Even though they are really small, I'm still deathly scared of them. hahaha
