Kicking Off 2016


Thursday morning I had basketball practice from 8-10.  A meeting with the other coaches followed by bringing a couple of the girls home.  After that I quickly repacked a bag & headed down to Mr. Midwest's place so we could see Star Wars.  I had to make a pit stop at Rue 21 first to see if I could find any sparkly tops for that night.  I found a pink one, that I wound up wearing, & a black one as well.  The price for both after tax was only $16.  Thank you clearance!  After my little shopping spree I made my way to his house where we promptly turned around & headed to the movie theater so that we could make it to the 1'o'clock show.  There were a couple of things that I had issue with but overall I liked the movie.  After the movie we took our time getting ready & lounging around before we needed to head off to Dallas to meet my friends Helen & Caleb for dinner.  We met up at their house & then headed to Cafe Salsera for dinner.  Helen & I both had Mambo Mac & Cheese which was mac & cheese with chorizo & avocado.  We also had the same drinks all night, firs a mint hibiscus margarita followed by a couple of cucumber margaritas.  I don't remember what the boys ate but we all got in on the margarita fun.  We took the train back to Helen & Caleb's house to just hang out for awhile.  I was practically falling asleep on the couch so around 11 Mr. Midwest & I headed back to his place.  We got to his garage at almost exactly midnight where we could hear but not see some fireworks.  The rest of the night was starting the Bitten series on Netflix & falling asleep on the couch. #OldPeopleProblems


I woke up Friday morning feeling like crap.  Not in a hung over way but in a my sinuses were killing me way.  Luckily, neither of us had to work so I took my sweet time getting out of bed.  I had plans of setting an alarm for 7 am so I could watch the sun come up on New Years Day but I felt so crappy that I decided to stay asleep until 9.  I woke up & got dressed long enough to get the essentials for the morning, cinnamon rolls, orange juice, Sprite, & sinus medication.  We then spent the ENTIRE day on the couch watching more Bitten on Netflix.  Between naps, meds, & relaxing I was starting to feel a lot better.  Originally I had plans to meet up with Emily for supper but she wasn't back in town yet which was just fine with me because that meant I got to continue lounging on the couch & get another night in a nice bed.  Mr. Midwest & I each finally decided to shower which we agreed we should have done hours earlier because it made us both feel so much better & human like.  Of course, post shower we went right back to lounging.  He went to play games on his computer while I half continued watching Bitten & catching up on blogs on my laptop.  I had planned on actually making supper but we ultimately decided on ordering pizza which meant that I didn't have to go to the grocery store or do any cooking.  All I had to do was walk downstairs & around the corner to pick up the pizza.  #LazyDays

Saturday morning I woke up & headed off to work for a basketball game.  JV won while Varsity lost big time.  I headed to Sprouts to pick up lunch & supper before heading back to my apartment to take care of a few things there.  We are without internet at my apartment until Tuesday so it was then off to Starbucks to use their free WiFi.  I hardly ever watch TV & am not even always on my computer but I felt so sheltered & like there was nothing to do at my apartment without the internet even though there are multiple things I could have been working on or doing.  #TotalFirstWorldProblems.  Luckily I was back at my apartment all of maybe 10-15 minutes when Mr. Midwest asked me to come over once again saving the day.  We stayed up watching Act of Valor & Ted 2.


Sunday morning we lounged around on the couch for a bit before I headed back to get some stuff done at my place for the week.  I went grocery shopping & did some meal prep.  I also made sure to weigh & measure myself so that I could start Whole30 today.  My breakfasts this week will be hard boiled eggs & bananas, lunches & suppers are proscuitto wrapped chicken stuffed with spinach & artichokes, snacks are various fruits & vegetables.  Once I got all of that done I headed over to Emily's where we hung out for a bit before heading out to lunch.  As one of my last "meals" before starting Whole30 I had a couple of strawberry mojitos and then chips with queso, salsa, & creamy jalapeno dip.  We spent a couple of hours at Chuy's just catching up on what had been going on in our lives since we hadn't seen each other since Christmas Break had started.  She dropped me off at my car & then I headed back down to Mr. Midwest's place.  I made chicken noodle soup for supper & we spent the night watching the Vikings & Packers battle it out for the NFC North title.
