Untouched Heaven

About 2 hours southwest of Kansas City you will find my favorite place on my Minnesota-Texas drive.  The Flint Hills of Kansas is absolutely breathtaking.  My pictures of course don't do it justice.

It's one of those places that when you're there you just feel like you can breathe.  There is absolutely nothing there but rolling hills, fields, & cows.  There isn't a building in site the entire time you're on that section of my drive.  It's my kind of heaven.  Whenever I'm driving through I just want to be able to stop my car, get out, & go run around or lay in the grass.  It's so gorgeous & peaceful it almost makes me want to cry.  I would love to be able to call a place like that home.

When you drive through the Flint Hills you forget other people exist.  It's like taking a step back in time.  I've never driven home the same way I always drive down.  If you're heading south to north however there is a even more scenic byway that you can take.  You can bet that this summer when I drive home that that's the way I'll be going.  And maybe, just maybe I'll actually be able to get out of the car.

  5. Heheh this is so fun. I live in KS and have driven that way many times while my sister was living in the Western part of the state. While I wouldn't want to live out there... it's really gorgeous to drive through! So glad that you loved it! :) It's nice to hear. ;) XO -Alexandra

  8. Pretty sure I drove through there once and wanted to stab my eyeballs out because I was so bored. Not that it's not pretty, but holy fucking nothingness. Give me at least a Walmart and call it civilization.
