Happy Birthday Daddy

First & foremost happy birthday to my daddy!

Secondly, a week ago Katie from The Macarthurs Lately gave birth to the beautiful Charlotte Reese.  Charlotte has been having some health issues & prayers for her as well as for Katie & Ethan would be greatly appreciated.  If you don't already follow Katie's blog or Instagram you can click any of the links for updates & to send her well wishes.

Friday
Friday afternoon my mama & I went to lunch with my dad's mom & sister so that I could see them one last time before I head back to TX.  (A week from today holy shit!)  After lunch we ran a couple of errands & then headed home.  I got it in my mind that I wanted to throw out all of my DVD cases since all of my movies are in one big disc holder.  After that was done I got into a "what other shit can I throw away?!" mood.  I came across some pretty nifty stuff: Game Boy, cassette tapes, old lover letters.  Of course that made my room a bigger mess than it already was but I threw a bunch of shit away.  My task for today is finish cleaning it all up.  After many years I was also finally given permission to take any of my parents' records that I wanted as well as their record player.  My dad got home from working out of state that evening & my brother, who moved into his own place last weekend, came over & we grilled steaks for my dad's birthday.

Saturday
My aunt & uncle who live in Florida are up visiting so my mom's side of the family all got together at my grandma's house for lunch.  With the exception of Kickass Cousin, I haven't seen anyone else on that side all summer which is a first.  It was good to see everyone.  I got to meet Kickass Cousin's brother's kid for the first time.  He was born back in February & I hadn't been home since December.  I pretty much hung out with Kickass Cousin & her kids most of the time.  Those little kids are my world & Mini Me (the girl) broke my heart when it was time to leave because she got all sad.  It had been such a long day that I managed to stay up for another hour once we got home before heading to bed to pass out for the night.

Sunday
Sunday was a pretty relaxing day as Sundays should be.  The day started out with coffee & Bruce Springsteen on vinyl.  I went to do more work on my room & had planned on having everything packed for Wefest as well as most of my stuff packed up for when I have to head back down to Texas.  That didn't happen.  I have my clothes packed for Wefest but that's it.  My dad & I also shot a few rounds with his pistol so I could try it out.  Last year I took the class to get my CHL in Texas but have yet to actually get the license or a gun so he wanted to see if I'd like one like the one he has.  For supper my brother stopped out again & we made homemade pizzas before my dad had to head back to work.  I may or may not have had a little bit of a breakdown after both my dad & brother left because I won't be seeing my daddy again until November or December & the same is possible with my brother unless he happens to stop out today sometime.

Today I need to get my ass in gear.  I knew this would happen.  I am a world class procrastinator.  I am leaving my house around 8 am tomorrow so that I can meet up my friends & we can head off to WeFest.  I will be there until sometime next Sunday & I will have less than 24 hours at home until I am on the road again until Texas.  So that means I basically have today & today only to get everything packed up & cleaned up.  This obviously means I'm going to spend most of my morning reading blogs just so I can procrastinate even more...
