Long Enough To Be A Memory

I'm on the road today with Kickass Cousin for Road Trip 2.0 (You still have time to get those questions in!)  Because I knew I'd be on the road, & didn't want to have any of the trip recapped before it was all over, I decided to schedule this post instead.  I created this little video to commemorate my time in Houston.  Yesterday when Kickass Cousin & I drove away it was the last time I would call Houston home.  I'm sure I'll still visit from time to time but as of yesterday I am starting the next chapter in my life.

The video is about 4.5 minutes long.  If nothing else you should watch/listen to it because it's set to Wade Bowen - Long Enough To Be A Memory & both he and the song are amazing.  The first dozen or so pictures are from MN while the rest are all pictures from Houston.

I hope y'all had a great weekend!

Enjoy!

There’s the road
Where I learned to dream
And fell in love with something deep in me
That said this town just wasn’t big enough

Donut Shop
Where the old folks they still to go to talk
Well I wonder if I left a mark
And if they’d recognize me

Well I’m just a stranger in a strange town
Where the stars are the same and sun beats down
It was kind enough to give me all I need
I just hope I stay, long enough to be a memory

I started out
A thousand miles away from my childhood
Got a job and it payed pretty good
Fell in love with being free

Learned to live
On red wine and a broken heart
When that first love of mine fell apart
That’s when I found myself in need

Well I was a stranger in a strange town
Where the stars were the same and sun beats down
It was kind enough to give me all I need
And I just hope I stay, long enough to be a memory

Well halfway through three weeks out on the road
Where gypsy heart has a mind of its own
Just counting down the days ‘til it brings me back home
But tonight… Yeah tonight

Tonight I’m just a stranger in a strange town
Where the stars are the same and sun beats down
You were kind enough to give me all I need
I just hope I stay, long enough to be a memory
Long enough to be a memory
Long enough to be a memory
