Dear Future Me

So this was actually yesterday's Blogtober topic but as I previously said in a post...I'm not following the rules.  I'm a rebel like that.

Topic: Write a letter to yourself in 10 years

Dear Brianne,

You're closing in on 36 years old.  Now even a year ago I probably would have written something like "I hope you're married" or "I hope you have a few kids running around."  Year 25 was kind of a big one though.  A transitioning phase almost.  As I write this I have absolutely no clue where I'll be at 27 let alone 36.  So mostly I hope you're happy.  I hope that no matter where you're living, what you're doing, where you've been, married or single, have kids or are kid free, you're happy.  Because if year 25 has taught me anything it's that life has a funny way of taking your plans & turning them upside down.  In the end as long as you're truly happy with where you're at in life, where you thought you'd be really doesn't matter.

Love,
Almost 26 year old Brianne

  2. So, so true. And I think the realization that you can--and will--be happy regardless of your circumstances (or marital status) is something so important to come to before you meet that husband of yours. Now that you've realized it, I'm hoping he comes right away! :)
