“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.”

G is for Goals

Starting yesteray I'm ready to get my life back on track.  I took exactly 1 month of from the gym/running.  I also stopped eating overly healthy.  I wasn't necessarily eating poorly I just wasn't as focused on it as I had been.  I had originally set 4 goals for the year: pay off my credit cards, get a new job, run 300 miles, & visit 1 new state.

While I'm proud to say that I paid off my Target card & stopped using it, I'm not so proud to say that not only do I continue to use my credit card...I bought my WeFest tickets with my 3rd credit card which was supposed to be there to get miles but mostly as a "I'm paying my bills with this & then automatically paying it off with my checking account."  Yeah homegirl doesn't have the $225 for the WeFest tickets hence why it went on the credit card.

The running?  Yeah not so hot on that either.  In the first 3 months I didn't even run 25 miles when it should've been 75 by the end of those 3 to keep on track.

I have had 2 job fair interviews & have been applying/emailing like crazy.  I'm sure I won't know anything about that until June though since most districts don't really start interviewing until May/June.

I haven't visited a new state yet, which is fine because it's only April.  I do know what the state will be though.  I'm going to drive through Arkansas.  I've never been there.  I have managed to visit every single state surrounding it but never Arkansas.  So on my drive home this summer instead of some epic Southern road trip, or the standard route I take home, I'm going to drive through Arkansas instead & make a pit stop in Branson.

(Ok so none of that was actually my original intent of this post...I was going to talk about my goals for this month/rest of the year...)

Starting yesterday I'm going to try to be active, whether it's the gym, going for a walk, or doing some sort of workout at home everyday.  I'm also going to start those monthly workout challenges you see on Pinterest (you know the Fab Abs February & what not) cause I feel like my ass is going away...so are my boobs... so with summer coming I figure now is a good time to start.  I'm also going to start having protien shakes for breakfast.  I was doing this for awhile & then stopped & got into the bad habit of having a muffin or cinnamon roll for breakfast because it was easy.  I found a protein shake recipe on Pinterest that I love.  I'm also going to take a crack at my bible again.  I'm not quite sure how I want to accomplish that one yet though.  The last time I tried I just tried starting at the beginning & going from there...it didn't go so hot...so if any of y'all have any suggestions that'd be great...otherwise I'll figure something out.  I also need to read more.  I just finished Heaven is For Real & started Never Have I Ever.

I need more structure/purpose in my life.

  1. just be sure to take baby steps!! getting back on track can be tough so if you do too much at once, you'll just want to say "fuck this noise" and stop. keep doing what you're doing (new habits) every day for 4 weeks and the habit will be ingrained :)
