Day 3: Savannah to Hickory, North Carolina

On Saturday morning we woke up to make our way to Hickory, NC.  Why Hickory you ask?  Well because Granite Falls is so small that there are no hotels & Hickory is the closest place that does.  But wait?  What's in Granite Falls?  Well it's only where Eric Church was born & raised.  Enough said.

Before heading out of Savannah we stopped at an old cemetery to look around.  I love old cemeteries.  This one was particularly gorgeous with all of the tree moss & low hanging trees over the walkways.

After the cemetery we took the scenic route up to Charleston, South Carolina so we could see more of the beach & I could see the actual ocean for the first time in my life.  We headed to Folly Beach where we stopped for some lunch.  It was AMAZING.  Seriously, I want more of it, like now.

After lunch we headed to the actual beach.  We walked along the water for awhile before walking back to the pier for another look at the ocean and the beach.

After a couple of hours we finally headed north towards Hickory where we got all checked into the hotel & made a plan for the next day.
