Frozen Four

Tonight the St. Cloud State Huskies play the Quinnipiac Bobcats.  For those of you that don't know, I'm originally from Minnesota.  Beyond that, I spent 5 of the greatest years of my life attending college in St. Cloud, MN at SCSU.  Hockey is a BIG deal at my college.  It was the only D1 sport we had and we also had a pretty good team.  However, tonight the Huskies take on the Bobcats in their first ever appearance the Frozen Four which has been around since 1948.  I would give just about anything to be sitting in a bar in my college town to watch the game.  Win or lose, although I hope we win, this is history.  But instead, here I sit, nearly 1300 miles away, in nearly 70 degree weather, wearing my SCSU hockey sweatshirt about to cheer on my boys.  Let's go Huskies!  Beat those Bobcats!

I am so in love with this video.  I've watched it so many times.  This adorable little boy is reciting Herb Brooks' speech from when he coached the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team.  For those of you who aren't from MN...Herb Brooks is a BIG deal.  Well, he should be a big deal to all of the US as he coached an Olympic team...who wound up beating the Soviet team during the Cold War...but in MN he's a REALLY big deal.  On my college campus there's even a Herb Brooks Way.  For those of you who haven't seen Miracle...go do so.

Time to go: It's Hockey Time!
