After The Sunburn

Happy Monday everyone!  First and foremost, congratulations to Biana & her husband on their beautiful baby girl!  Second of all, last Monday I started making a conscious effort to hit all of my FitBit goals everyday as well as track what I'm eating.  Today I am down 4.4 pounds!  Now to be fair, last week when I weighed myself initially it was also *that* time which always leads to a higher weight.  But still!  I'm down some lbs.  4.4 down, 9.8 to go.

Friday
Friday was such a weird day!  Since I had been to work for 8 hours on Monday, followed by two days off, & then back to work for 2 days, Friday felt more like a Tuesday.  I was not in weekend mode at all.  When my alarm went off I fed Nash, took him out to potty, & then hit the gym.  I only did about 20-25 min on the treadmill, just like I did the day before, but it's better than nothing.  I want to make sure that I leave my gym by 5:45 so that I have plenty of time to shower, eat, & all that jazz.

The week and a half of staff development before kids return is pretty ridiculous.  It's generally a whole lot of nothing.  Now the upside to this is that we rarely have to stay until 4:30 like we're supposed to.  I was out at 2:45 on Thursday & 3 on Friday.  It certainly makes driving home nicer.

I started listening to The Good Soldiers on Audible.  Probably not my wisest choice for a commute to work because I was already teary eyed day one.  On the way home I wasn't nearly as emotional.  When I did finally make it home I didn't do much.  I hung out with Nash, went for a walk to finish out my Fitbit goals, & then just watched some Netflix until bedtime.

Saturday
Saturday started out super lazy.  The rain didn't help my motivation.  After watching some I Am A Killer on Netflix, I finally went for my walk when there seemed to be a break in the rain.  I had just started my last loop around the lake when it started raining so hard!  Rather than turning around I decided to finish my walk anyway.  However, getting rained on meant I needed a shower as soon as I got home so I could fix the new mess that was my hair.  That nixed the idea of going to the gym later to get some more of a workout in.  After the shower I went to the grocery store & got groceries for the week as well as some new flowers for the apartment.  Nash & I lounged around for the rest of the day until it was time for me to head out to see Kip Moore at Texas Live! for their grand opening.  As always he put on an excellent show.  The best part?  It was 9:30-11:30.  I am a huge fan of getting out of concerts before midnight.  #GettingOld

Sunday
Sunday was another pretty lazy day.  Thank you rain!  I watched Blue Crush & Gran Torino before finally going to the park for my walk where I met an angry squirrel.  It made me think of this scene from Sword in the Stone.  I made the buffalo chicken part of the Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sweet Potatoes so that it would be ready to go for suppers this week.  I had also bought stuff for Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp with Zucchini Noodles but since I still had other food left over I decided to hold off on making that until later in the week.  I ran to Target just to walk around but forgot it was tax free weekend & bounced.  I did also go to Walmart but that was because I needed some cleaning supplies.  I made sure to be in & out of there as quickly as possible though.  I watched Miracle & tried to watch Freedom Writers but because of the weather, and my crappy internet, it was hard to keep internet long enough to really watch it.  I mostly had it on for background noise anyway while I blogged and planned for the week.  My Fitbit also started acting up.  The app had started acting up Friday night but then later Sunday afternoon my actual Fitbit stopped tracking stuff.  I got to 9,999 steps & then it wouldn't track anything else at all after that.  I'm hoping that charging it does the trick, even though it really wasn't dead yet anyway...

  1. LOL to Sword and the Stone squirrel, because I totally knew exactly what you were talking about.

Workout trackers acting up is the worst! It doesn't count if it wasn't tracked! Gosh!
