That's right! Today is my last Monday of the school year! I was so tempted to just wear jeans the last 9 days of work but I suppose I can save that for the last 5 (finals for the kids & a teacher day.) Knowing that this year is almost over I am in such a good mood about going to work. If y'all could say a couple prayers for me I'd really appreciate it. My grandma was recently in the hospital & got moved into a nursing home until she can get her strength back. My grandpa hasn't been able to visit her because he is fighting a cold and doesn't want to get her sick. So if you could say a little prayer for them that would be great! And then I still don't have a teaching job lined up for next year so I'd also really appreciate prayers for finding one soon! Linking up with Miss Biana!
My work week had been so shitty that I decided to duck out a little early Friday on my off period to go get my nails done. It had been forever since I had gotten a mani/pedi. It felt amazing. Between just being plain exhausted from the week, the complimentary wine, & the massage I could've just fallen asleep right there. I got ORLY polish on my nails & toes. My manicure is Neon Heat & my pedicure is On The Edge. I am ready for summer now! When I got home I laid down briefly before hopping in the shower & getting ready for a girls' night out with Kathrine & Emily. We met up at Star Cafe for supper because I'm pretty sure that is the only place that I ever actually eat when I'm there. I even text Kathrine asking if she was going to hate me if I suggested there again. Hey I like what I like! Plus, it's way more reasonably priced that the other places, ie steakhouses, that are down there. We then hit up PRs for a drink & were about to call it a night before going into the Thirsty Armadillo mostly so we could go to the bathroom & then got sucked into the throwback rap/hip hop that was playing so we wound up staying until finally an impeding storm sent us home.
I was going to get up at a decent hour & get so much done. I actually did wake up at a decent hour, 8-8:30, but I didn't get out of bed until 11. I was actually pretty productive too. I got caught up on blogs, I went grocery shopping, did a little bit of food prep for the week, dishes, 3 loads of laundry. On the other hand I didn't get dressed until 3-4 when I finally went to the store & also watched a lot of One Tree Hill while doing laundry & cooking. It was actually a kind of perfect Saturday. I didn't get all of my food prepped for the week. Just some snacks (deviled eggs & hard boiled eggs) & breakfasts (burritos.) I didn't feel like going back to the store though for the ingredient I was missing for my suppers.
Sunday I was woken up around 6:30 by a thunderstorm so I decided to stay up. I love thunderstorms. I laid in bed for a little bit just listening to it before getting up to make coffee. I managed to get a lot done again without actually doing a whole lot. I listened to a lot of classic rock on vinyl while prepping my lunches (meatballs) & cleaning up my living room. Other than that I don't actually know what I did. I applied for a lot of jobs, talked to my mama on the phone, got summer session of grad school paid for, & just messed around online in general.
I decided to shut down my blog Twitter account because like 30 people followed me & I NEVER used it. Legit the only thing ever posted to it was my automated blog posts from Dlvr.It. So I decided to switch that to my personal account which I actually use, although still not nearly as much as I used to. I used to be on Twitter all day long all the time & now half the time when I go on I maybe retweet some people but that's a lot of it. But because I do use that one more & have closer to 1200 followers I'm just getting it all done on there. So if you're on Twitter & want to keep following me, or even start, here it is!
That evening Kathrine & I met up at 54th Street Bar & Grill for supper. The food was really good but the service was really terrible. I used to be a waitress so I'm forgiving of a lot & almost always tip 20+%. So if I tip you 10% you know you sucked. She was never around, was slow as all get out, both of our orders were either missing things or had things added, & she just looked like she did not care at all the whole time. After supper we got froyo from Menchies. When I got home I was so tired I barely made it from couch to bed & out of regular clothes into PJs.
Overall it was just the kind of weekend I needed. Very productive without really having to leave home a whole lot or change out of basketball shorts & a t-shirt.
