First things first. I'm taking a cue from Kayla & posting my main goal for the week.

Friday
Despite not getting home from work until midnight, I was woken up at 7:30 in the morning on Friday by roofers. I really wish they had just waited because within an hour they had to call it a day due to rain. (Spoiler alert: It's supposed to rain pretty much every day for the next couple of weeks) I spent most of the day just lounging around. I finished reading Escape From Camp 14. That night I worked 6-11. I am so ready to be done training. Thankfully I only have 3 more days of it next week & then I'll be set free on my own.
Saturday
My friend Bridgette had been in Dallas for work since Wednesday so when she was all done Saturday morning I picked her up & we did brunch. I was able to cross my first restaurant off my Dining In Dallas list. We got some Tex-Mex at Matt's Rancho Martinez. We each got mango margaritas. She got tacos & I got a chorizo & bacon breakfast burrito. Thumbs up. Afterwards I drove her by the 6th Floor Museum so she could see where JFK was assassinated. On the way back to Fort Worth we drove by the Cowboys Stadium & the Rangers ballpark so that she cold see those as well. Once we were back in Fort Worth we went straight to the Stockyards. I took her to The White Elephant since that's pretty much my go to bar down there. We made lots of friends there. After the White Elephant we headed to the Thirsty Armadillo. We ran into a couple that we had met the previous bar & they gave us their Joe Nichols concert tickets for that night because they decided that they would rather watch the UFC fight. We were stoked. I then took her to the Star Cafe for dinner where I had a steak salad as always. We had a few hours to kill before the concert started so we stopped at a candy store & then went to go rest in my car. That was a mistake. We didn't make the concert. We both decided that we were too tired to wait another 1.5-2 hours for the concert to start let alone actually stay for the show. We headed back to my place & promptly went to bed. **I had made/put sheets on my bed that morning for the first time since I had moved in since she was going to be spending the night**
Sunday
The next morning I was starving & we had already discussed having bloody marys for brunch the night before. I wanted to cross off a restaurant on my Fort Worth Food list but when I looked at their brunch menu they didn't have much so we just wound up going to the Baker's Street by my old apartment. Our eyes were way bigger than our stomachs & the struggle was oh so real. We had both woke up around 1:30-2 in the morning hungover but felt fine when we actually woke up around 8:30-9 that morning. We each got a bloody but neither of us finished it. We shared an order of calamari & then each ordered our own food. I just got southwest poppers & she got chicken strips. We ate all the calamari but neither of us finished our own meals. Afterwards we just laid on my couch & watched TV until it was time for me to take her to the airport. I planned on going to the grocery store right after but I wound up laying down for a solid hour before finally getting that done. I was going to do all my meal prep but only wound up making one batch of Berry Banana Muffins before calling it a night as far as cooking was concerned.
Wait, have you just been sleeping on a bare mattress? I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteI meant to make muffins yesterday but didn't either.
