It's July!

How in the world is it July?!  The second half of 2016 starts today & if the first half of the year is any indication of how the second half is going to go, then it's going to fly by!

As always, linking up with Amanda & Amy

One
Monday was a lucky day.  That morning I had received an email from Meg saying that I had won her $50 Gold Creations gift card giveaway.  I immediately knew what I wanted to order.  I have been wanting a pair of silver Texas stud earrings & they have them!  That afternoon when I went to get the mail I noticed there was a package for me which I was confused about because I hadn't ordered anything.  When I was driving from Texas to Minnesota back at the beginning of June I was flipping through the stations & landed on Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 for awhile.  (side note that man's voice reminds me of my grandparents' house because his programs were always on there when I was growing up.)  Anyway, I heard him say something about cd giveaways.  So, when I got back to MN I went online & entered for 2 or 3 for the heck of it.  I won one!  I got Frankie Ballard's album El Rio.

My nails look like absolute shit from getting them done too often.  I love the powder dip gel.  I really do.  It goes straight on your actual nails, it lasts like 3 weeks, & it is thicker/harder than regular gel so I feel like it just makes my nails look nicer.  However, this is the result of having that done almost consistently since September.  There is a noticeable indent line and discoloration line on my nails.  I was already planning on trying to go without a manicure for awhile because money, but when I took off my red polish the other day I finally decided that I'm just going to go polish free altogether until they grow out long enough to get rid of the unhealthy part of my nail.

Three
Work around the yard & house continues.  There are a couple of bushes in my parents front yard that had died & my mom & I decided it was time to take them out.  It took an hour & a half to get one out.  Finally after finding the main root, & getting the smaller ones detached, I sawed my way through that sucker.  There's still another one left for another day...

Four
Wednesday was my mama's birthday.  She took the day off of work, and while we didn't do anything I would consider "fun", we got a lot accomplished around the house/yard (see above for an example)  We did meet up with some of her coworkers later for some drinks & then with my brother after that for some Mexican.

Five
The bear is back.  And by the bear I just mean a bear.  The often travel through the woods behind our house & from time to time (as in not even every year) they come into the yard & knock down the bird feeders.  I didn't see this one.  It must have come through at night.  However, one time, probably about 5 years back, a baby bear came through during the day& I just sat out on the deck and took pictures of the little one climbing trees and attacking bird feeders.

  8. My toes are a gross shade of jaundice yellow because I had on a neon green-ish polish that I left on has stained my toes. It's gross and I'd rather paint over them, but I want it to go away. This is why I don't usually paint my nails. Additionally, it makes my nails super weak and they break easier. Le siiigh.
