And The Thunder Rolls

Baby Bro is growing up so fast.  He bought me lunch & even brought it home for me.  After lunch I headed to my mom's office & helped out there for a few hours.  I also finally got my new tank top in the mail.  I am in love with it.  It was more than I'd generally spend on a tank top but it was worth every penny.  It comes in different colors & styles.  If you would like one you can get it here.  In addition to the tank top I got a surprise check in the mail from my water company so I was able to buy a flight back to MN in September for First College Roomie's baby shower.  I had been wanting another steak salad since I went out with Music Soulmate & got a steak cobb salad.  It was so filling & so delicious.  I really did nothing exciting all day & yet my day was filled.

One of my cousin's had his graduation party so around 1 I headed there for awhile.  After that I got ready & headed off to pick up Kickass Cousin.  We both have a new found love for fish tacos so we headed to a place neither of us had been to in Uptown.  We each tried out drinks called The Minnetonka Motorboat.  You get two little goblets & each one has a different drink.  You take a sip of each & mix each your mouth by...well...shaking your head like your motorboating.  We each did it a few times & then mixed them into one glass when there was enough room.  We had time to kill before the concert so we went on a little adventure of a walk around Uptown where we met a couple of nice Canadians.

We then headed downtown so we could find a place to park & head to the concert.  Like we apparently do now before we go places, because we're broke, we drank a bottle of wine in the parking lot & then headed to the venue.  We met up with Music Soulmate & saw Adam Wayne, Greg Michaels, & Josh Abbott Band.  The first two are Minnesota men.  They were both good but I really loved Greg Michaels.  We even got to meet him afterward & he signed the CDs we bought.  The show was really good but there were all sorts of obnoxious people.  I was pretty sure a couple of times that throw down was going to happen.  The girl in front of us was that awful girl that is at every single show you will ever go to.  Ya know...the one that is wasted, knows about one song, forces herself to the front, & then takes up 3 spaces.

The walk back to my car was also an adventure where we talked to more random people.  If we weren't so tired & hungry (aka too old for this shit) we would have walked around more to continue the adventure.  However we were both hungry & ready for bed.  We made a breakfast stop, I dropped Kickass Cousin off at her house, & then I headed home.  I rolled in around 3:30 in the morning.  Way too late for me  ha.

...you're welcome...

Sunday

Considering how late I was out I really didn't sleep that late.  I first woke up at 7:30, but because that was only 4 hours of sleep I said hell no & passed back out.  2 hours later I was out of bed.  6 hours is definitely better than 4 ha.  It was a really chill, low key day which was perfect because I was still tired most of it.  My brother had to drive to the cities to bring his friends back home & so I went with my mom to Walmart so she could get some groceries & a cake for a co-worker.  A friend told me to read Luckiest Girl Alive but I couldn't find it so I picked up Loving Dallas & Paper Towns because I couldn't choose between the two.  Once we got home the night was just spent watching movies & eating Dairy Queen with my mama & baby bro while the storms rolled in.

  3. I've heard good things about Paper Towns, but have yet to read it because so many other books are on my lists right now. I need Charleston to get some better concerts in. Seriously.
