Linking up with Biana.
Friday
Friday I met up with Kickass Cousin & her friend. We started out doing happy hour at a bar I had never been too (check one off the 101 list!) & then headed to Bar Louie where we spent a few hours drinking, eating, & people watching. After happy hour we headed out to Music Soulmate's house for a bonfire with her & a few of her friends. We made a pit stop at a liquor store in the ghetto in between happy hour & the bonfire. Ya know the type with bars on the window & a cop inside the door? It was a fun little adventure & I chatted with an interesting man while waiting for the other 2.
Saturday
Saturday was spent getting food & the house ready. Around 4 pm most of my dad's side of the family came over to celebrate Independence Day. My awesome brother & dad spent the day making smoked brisket, sausage, & pork so we could have a taste of Texas at our Minnesota get together. My cousins & I played bags (corn hole for those of you that call it that...weird jk), we lit off fireworks, and all just sat around talking until late into the night (ok midnight but I hadnt' gotten home until 3 am the night before). Overall it was fun & there was a lot of good food.
Sunday
Sunday morning I got up & got ready so I could go pick up Kickass Cousin. We headed off to Taste of Minnesota. We met up with Music Soulmate & her cousin (who is also my friend I just don't have a good name for him at the moment.) This was the first year I've ever been there but it apparently used to be a lot different. Now it reminds me of a county fair, which I love. We ate some food, drank some drinks, & listened to music. We saw Maiden Dixie, Chris Hawkey, & Jon Pardi. Phil Vasser also played at like 6:30 but Kickass Cousin & I decided to leave about then. It was hot out, I was getting a headache, & still had a 2 hour drive home. We made a pit stop at Chipotle right before I dropped Kickass Cousin off & then I headed home so I could say goodnight/goodbye to my daddy since he was heading back to work for a week or 2 & then I passed out.
I love the nicknames you have for people! Ohhh, the BBQ that your dad and brother made for the 4th sounds sooo delicious.
