Sunshine & Thunderstorms

Linking up with the lovely Biana over at B Loved Boston.

Friday
Friday was such a long day.  Grades were due, my appraisal binder was due, we sort of had a softball game.  I believe we got into the 2nd inning when the lightening started at which point we had to sit on the school bus for over 30 minutes while we waited for the home team to decide if the storm was going to pass or if we were going to call the game.  It got called...  Then, being the nice coach I am I brought 5 girls home, with a pit stop for ice cream, because their parents couldn't get them since we were done 2-3 hours earlier than expected.  I didn't get home until sometime between 9:30-10.

Saturday
We were supposed to have a softball game in the afternoon but for one reason or another that got postponed which was alright by me.  Instead I bummed around the house not doing much of anything before heading to Art Teacher's 30th birthday.  This is the 3rd year in a row that her now in-laws have put on a crawfish boil for her birthday.  It's always a good time.  The theme this year was "Dirty Thirty."  Her sister-in-law, who is a professional baker, made worms in dirt & dirty martini cupcakes for dessert to go with the theme.  It rained briefly but otherwise the weather was perfect.

Sunday
The weather started out so nice so I quickly ran to the grocery store to get me enough to get through today (pay day) & then headed off to the park.  I wanted to get some steps in & be out in the sun since it was one of very few nice days we've had recently.  I had planned on reading afterwards but I had forgotten a blanket to lay on & there were a lot of people at the park so I just headed home.  I was so tired that I took a little nap.  It was one of those terrible naps where when you wake up you're not even sure what day or what time it is anymore.  A storm rolled in & I opened all the windows in the house so I could listen to it & let some fresh air.  At one point I looked in the back yard & not only was it pouring rain, there was also hail.  Keep in mind it was also 85 degrees out at the time...  The ACMs were on also on but in sticking with my award show boycott I didn't watch them.  I have it DVRd so I can watch some of the performances later but knowing me that'll be right before I cut the cable at the end of next month, if at all...
