-Thanksgiving food! Turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, & cranberries. YUM!!

3. What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
-I ate bull & buffalo testicles in Colorado. I've also eaten cow tongue, deer heart, squirrel, chicken liver... I'd eat it all again too.

6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
-Chicken Wild Rice Soup (There's no great story behind it...it's just my favorite soup that my mom makes)

2/3 c uncooked wild rice
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp minced onion
1/3 c diced carrots
1/3 c diced celery
1/4 c flour
1 qt chicken broth heated
2-3 c diced chicken
1/2 tsp salt
pepper to taste
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
1 c half & half
Rinse wild rice, soak in cold water for 1 hour. Drain rice; cover with boiling water & cook over low heat for 40 minutes. Melt butter in 4 qt pan. Sauté onion, carrots, & celery until tender; blend in flour. Gradually add the heated chicken broth stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Stir in the rice, meat, & seasonings. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Add the half & half slowly to the soup. Heat just to serving temperature. Makes 6 bowls or 12 cups.
Stopping over from Sunday Social :) And Thanksgiving food is totally my comfort food as well! I love my post-feast nap with a full stomach of turkey and stuffing :)
