TBB Asks: Fall -- Hello October!

Happy Monday & Happy October everyone!  It's officially my birthday month!  Linking up with Biana to recap my weekend!

Friday
Friday could not come fast enough.  It was National Coffee Day, which really was just an extra excuse to get even more coffee...  I FINALLY got my hands on a fall cup from Starbucks.  I kind of thought that despite having a volleyball game I'd have an early night.  Our games were all moved up by 45 minutes & I was fairly confident that we'd all win.  Well we did all win but JV took 3 sets to do it instead of 2 & Varsity took 4 instead of 3.  Somewhere around 10 I got home & then hung out with Nash for a bit before finally going to bed.  My obnoxious neighbors partied until 4 or 5 am so I slept almost none.

Saturday
I was already up before my 6 am alarm because of my awful neighbors.  I had to be at the Walk to End Alzheimer's by 8 am.  Our volleyball team participated in the walk to raise money for a cure.  We got done a lot earlier than expected so I did get to rest for a bit before heading into Fort Worth to meet with a former co-worker & a couple of my former athletes.  One of them got married this summer & her husband is a Marine so she's moving to Hawaii this coming week.  We went to Bahama Bucks.  I had never been before!  I tried the candy corn flavor.  I know candy corn is one of those controversial flavors but I LOVE candy corn!  On my way home I stopped at Fuel City for some elote & barbacoa tacos.  It had been WAAAAY too long since I had their corn & I had never had their tacos.  I got a couple of fall candles from Target & then Nash & I hung out the rest of the night watching Parks & Rec.  I seriously thought I was going to bed so late... nope... 9:30.  Go me!  Glad I tried going to bed then because I didn't get to sleep for long.  Why?  BECAUSE MY NEIGHBORS SUCK!  I've said something to them.  Other neighbors have said something to them.  Other neighbors have talked to management.  The "night" before I contacted management.  It was at 4 am when I heard them bragging about how all of us find them loud & annoying but they didn't care then I had enough & called the cops.  It's on now.  I will be calling the cops every night if I have to until either they get the message or get evicted.

Sunday
I wanted to get Nash to the dog park at 7 so he could play for 2-3 hours before I headed off to a friend's birthday festivities.  My toilet had other plans.  Just before 7 I had to call my dad & have him walk me through how to fix a leaking toilet.  An hour later the standing water in my bathroom was cleaned up & the toilet was no longer leaking.  We got to the dog park & Nash was reunited with his doggy friends.  For my friend's birthday a few of us went to Ten Bells Tavern in Oak Cliff for brunch.  The food was so good & so filling!  Brunch was at 11 & as I type this at 9 pm... I didn't really eat a whole lot the rest of the day & I'm just now getting hungry.  But I digress.  After brunch we walked to Wild Detectives.  Such a cool bar!  It's in an old house & they serve beer, cocktails, & coffee.    They also sell books & vinyl records.  Definitely want to go back.  After everyone else had coffee, & I had a summer cocktail, we walked to Spinster Records.  I wound up finding a Bob Dylan album for my collection!  Give me all the records!  Ecanto Pops was right next door to the record store so we each got a popscicle before heading home.  That day was exactly what I needed to make up for the 4 am call to the cops & 7 am toilet fixing.  The rest of the night was spent doing meal prep, dishes, laundry, & hanging out with Nash.

I'm also linking up with Andrea for TBB Asks: Fall Theme

1. Favorite Fall Sweet Treat?
Pecan pie

2. Red, Yellow or Green Apples?
Red.  I pretty much dislike all other apples.  Well I'll eat green but I'll never buy them.

3. Favorite Fall Sport to Play?
I love watching football.  Football & fall are synonymous to me.  I coach volleyball in the fall so I guess there's also that.

4. Best Drink for Fall?
Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks

5. Favorite Fall Activity?
Watching football all day on Sundays

6. Must have Fall Purchase?
A good fleece blanket

7. Pumpkins: Pick your own or store bought?
In a perfect world going pumpkin picking sounds all awesome, fall like, & bloggery.  However, over here in the real world I'm lucky if I go to the store & buy one.  Maybe someday I'll have that fun date...

8. Real or Fake Pumpkin?
Real

9. Favorite Halloween Costume?
I've been so many different things.  I don't know that I have a favorite.  The easiest ones were when I was a football player or a cowgirl.  I just took clothes I already owned & threw it together.  I would kind of like to dress up this year but I don't have plans.

10. College Football or NFL?
NFL.  I went to a D1 hockey school & football was kind of a joke there so I never got into college football.  Had I gone to the University of Minnesota like I had considered though I feel like I'd have a completely different answer.

11. Fall or Halloween Decor?
Fall.  Although I don't have any for my apartment right now... I should maybe go buy some...

12. Raking Leaves or no Leaves to Rake?
I don't want to rake them but I would love to jump in them!

13. Favorite Soup?
My mom's chicken wild rice

14. Favorite Fall Candle scent?
Well apparently B&BW is having a sale so I need to get my butt there.  I'm looking at these:

15. Love or Hate Pumpkin Spice?
HATE!  I actually hate all things pumpkin flavored & scented.  I'll just turn in my blogger card now...

16. Short Booties or Tall boots?
Tall boots.  Although short booties have been growing on me more & more.

17. Favorite Halloween Candy?
Candy corn.  I flippin LOVE candy corn.  When we were younger my grandparents on my dad's side used to make all of us grandkids say "gobble gobble" before we were allowed to have any haha.

18. PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte): YES or NO?
NO!  See #15

19. Hayride or Corn Maze?
I haven't done either in years.  Probably corn maze though.

20. Favorite Fall TV Show?
Football.  I don't really watch regular TV anymore.  It used to be The Walking Dead

    1. A girl I work with made a version of Starbucks pumpkin bread & gave me some of it. I still plan on trying it at some point but she was so excited about it that I didn't have the heart to tell her I don't like pumpkin ha.

  4. Im so glad I no linger live in a complex with neighbours on either side. One of my neighbours use to drive me absolutely bonkers with noise on a weekend. Everyone loves a good time but FFS you live next to people. Mini rant over. Hope you got some more rest. :)

  5. Oh man I feel you with the neighbors. It's the worse. The people across from me are always slamming their doors, at all hours of the day. It's so loud that it has woken me up at night. I so want to put a note on their door not to slam the door at 3am, people are sleeping. haha I can't stop laughing about PSL. I do like pumpkin but I'm not the biggest fan of the PSL.

  7. I'd call the cops on those neighbors too, especially if they were bragging about being obnoxious afterwards. Why are some people so rude?? I don't have much in the way of fall decor, but I did buy a wreath, hot glue gun, and some orange/red fake flowers from the dollar store and made a fall wreath while drinking pumpkin beer and it was pretty awesome! And I agree, a good fleece blanket is key! Also, The Walking Dead is back 10/22!

  9. Your neighbors are THE WORST. Get on with yourself and get them out of there. There's no need for that nonsense.

Candy Corn Bahama Bucks? I'm intrigued. What syrups does it use? I'm so intrigued.
