The Weekend I Did Nothing...And Loved It

This is my last week in Texas of 2016.  This weekend I'll be heading back to Minnesota for two weeks & will be back just before 2017 starts.  I hope that y'all had a fabulous weekend & have an amazing week.

I did nothing this weekend & it was glorious!  However, because of that this is going to be a short & sweet recap.  Linking up with Biana.

On Friday I finished & submitted my final assignment for grad school.  My first semester is finally over.  Now I am just impatiently & nervously waiting for my grades.  I need a 3.0 to be able to stay in the program & this semester has been a hot mess.  I have one class where the entire grade is based on 1 assignment & the class was cancelled 4-5 times throughout the semester.  My other class was an online class in which expectations were so unclear & grades were consistently messed up.  I'm still waiting on a grade to be fixed that we've talked about multiple times...

I got rejected for a job that I had interviewed for, & thought for certain was mine considering they had already hired me for it as a long term sub position.  After crying about it I found another permanent position to apply to, a long term sub position to apply for, and my friend said she was going to send someone at her school my name as well.  I have some of the greatest & supportive friends and family ever.  I had multiple people let me cry to them on the phone & then try to help me figure out my next move.  A minute after I got the email rejecting me from the job I signed up for Helene's Instagram For Success.  While I was watching the live video I told myself that if I got the job I wouldn't pay for the program but if I didn't I was going to sign up.  Well, I didn't get it so sign up I did.

Saturday I did nothing for real.  I woke up, slowly drank coffee & had breakfast, and then planted myself on the couch.  I got some blogging done while watching a Catfish marathon followed by White Chicks.  It has been so long since I've seen that movie.  It makes me think of my students that I taught my first year though because they were obsessed with it.  They loved when 1000 Miles would come around on my Pandora.  I concluded the night by spending an hour & a half in the tub letting cold water out & adding hot water from time to time as I started Dallas on Netflix.  After deciding I had been in the tub longer than necessary, Netflix & I moved to the bedroom.

Sunday morning started much of the same way.  I woke up, slowly drank coffee & had breakfast, and then planted myself on the couch.  I watched the Teen Mom & Teen Mom 2 reunions.  I will always love Maci the most but holy crap the original teen moms are way hotter messes than the ones from Teen Mom 2.  I had wanted to watch the Vikings & Jaguars game but it wasn't on TV so I settled for ESPN updates.  It was the game of the field goals.  Feeling like I needed to be productive on the job search I found 3 internships to apply to as well as checking the sub list every 30 minutes seeing if anything had been added to pick up.  Fingers crossed that between the 3 internships, 2 long term sub positions, and 1 permanent position I applied to over the weekend something comes of at least one of them.  After finishing the Teen Mom reunions I took a shower & then sat down with Helene's Instagram For Success course.

  2. I'm sorry you didn't get the job, hopefully it means something better is just around the corner! I've stopped watching Teen Mom/Teen Mom 2 on a regular basis but I still like to check in every once in a while and watch the reunion episodes because I like to see how everyone is doing. I've always had a soft spot for Chelsea, she genuinely seems like a smart girl who has goals and ambitions and wants be successful for herself and Aubree.

    1. Thank you so much! Your comments always make me smile & feel better. It's going to be a really low key week work wise so I'm hoping I can find a lot of fun things to do.

  7. Ugh, grad school. I don't miss crying over my grades at Christmas! Hang in there, that's a rough time (especially when job disappointment is thrown in too), but you're so awesome for just making it through one semester!! I also caught Teen Mom OG over the weekend (they're really the only Teen Moms I'm familiar with) and when they would show commercials for Teen Mom 2, I felt like those girls seemed way more together. Apparently, that is the case! ha
