I fly a fair amount. Certainly less than people who traveling for a living, or get to go on vacation all the time, but since moving to Texas back in 2012 I get on a plane at least 6 times a year. Considering up until that point I had probably been on a plane 6 times in my entire life I find it to be a fair amount. I also happen to be a person who HATES being late to anything which means I get to the airport way earlier than necessary.
Here are the 5 things that keep my sane while waiting around forever at the airport, and on the plane.
Books
Charging Stations
Headphones
Music
WiFi
Great idea for a post, I love finding a little nook in the airport if I can and curling up with my headphones in and browsing the Internet or reading a good book! I hope you have a spectacular weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I usually spend my time in the airport browsing the internet & getting stuff done and then spend the entire flight reading.
Delete6 times a YEAR? I would consider that a lot too! I fly about twice a year- roundtrip vacation. But I agree- these are my go-to's as well!
ReplyDeleteCharging stations are definitely a life saver at airports! I usually don't bother with headphones because I like to people watch as I read a magazine. I never buy magazines except for airports!
ReplyDeleteYes to all of these things! Books are a big one for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteGood post. Here are a couple of ideas: instead of using a charging station, buy a rechargeable power bank like the ones by EasyAcc for charging your phone and all your electronics except your laptop. For that, they sell batteries that will power the box for four hours or more. After seeing an episode of CSI: Cyber where charging stations were used to infect phones with viruses, I'm leery of them. Not sure if you have a Kindle, but it cuts down the weight you have to carry, although it doesn't do much good if you have a lot of books or borrow them from the library (unless your library has a way to lend e-books). And, your smartphone (assuming you have one, which I'm certain you do) probably can be turned into a wi-fi hotspot for those times when the airport either doesn't have wi-fi or it costs an arm and a leg to use. Noise-canceling headphones are nice, too... Enjoy your trip and be safe!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I don't have a Kindle. I am very pro-real books. I've never been a fan of e-reading. Even in college I printed multi-page articles out because I didn't like reading them online. I do have a portable charger for my phone that I also bring along.
DeleteAs long as I have my kindle and an outlet for my phone, I'm good to go!!! Great post!
