I Want To Make Memories All Over The World

I have always wanted to see the world.  That want intensified greatly in the summer of 2006 when I spent 2 weeks touring Germany, Switzerland, Austria, & Lichtenstein.  I still kick myself to this day for not studying abroad in college.  During college I was always looking at tours to take through Europe.  Usually through EF.  I even tried to win a few tours.  Needless to say I never won & I never had the money/time to go.

Nearly 3 years ago one of my best friends went to Greece with her sister.  It was their college graduation present to themselves.  I asked her what they used & she said Contiki tours.  Almost instantly I found what tour I wanted.  I've wanted that tour for the nearly 3 years it's been since I found it.  Time & money have continued to play a factor in why I haven't gone.

Unlike with EF, which is focused more towards college students, Contiki is focused more on people in their 20s & 30s.  Me having been out of college fo 2 years already & approaching the back end of my 20s, that sounds perfect to me.  But of course y'all don't really care about who the tour is through...what you (maybe) care about is where in the world do I want to go?!  Well my friends...I want to camp my way through Eastern Europe.  Everyone does Western Europe.  Sure, I want to see more of that too...but how many people have stories about camping their way through Eastern Europe.  Not that many.

Instead of boring you with an entire itinerary of what the trip entails (although you can read about that here).  I'm just going to share some pictures (thanks Google!) to show you WHY I want to go on this tour & give your the highlights.
Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Netherlands, Belgium, & France.  YES PLEASE!

The parts of me that geek out over history, travel, & camping jump for joy every damn time I look at the tour.  I want to get lost in places I've never been too.  I want to take thousands of pictures.  I want to meet new people.  I want to try new things.  I want to make memories that will last a lifetime.  Most importantly, I don't want to do it staying in 5 star hotels.  I want to camp in national parks next to historic lakes...experiencing foreign nature.

Seriously though, just over 3k for nearly an entire month camping your way through Europe?!  Who's with me?

(For the record I haven't actually booked this trip...but now that I've been working on a card with miles it's going to happen...I'm hoping summer 2015...2016 at the latest)

**Also, this isn't a sponsored post whatsoever...but if either EF or Contiki want to give me a trip...by all means I will promote the shit out of you**

  1. ahhh contiki. its super popular at home, though i have noticed not as popular here. i have several friends who have gone on contiki tours and loved it, and several that hated it. i have never gone, but i did a similar tour when i first came to america and was on my own. i think its a great thing to do when you're on your own. very fast paced, whirlwind type trip. i hope you get to go love! i am hoping to go to europe next summer, but i dont think contiki is for me and my husband - we'll do it on our own and not as many places.
