My Favorite Place On Earth

I stole this idea from my friend Abigail. Check out her blog! But since I was talking about travel recently in my blog & happened to notice this in hers, I thought I'd share with all of you my favorite place in the world.

I wasn't there for long. Just long enough to fall in love & seriously consider moving out there. The strangest part? I didn't even really want to go out there in the first place. Sure I had wanted to visit at some point but going out there was not the original plan. We were going to take a trip south, to El Paso to be exact. Instead, plans changed and we ended up 11 hours north of there in the middle of nowhere. The kind of nowhere where there isn't even cell phone service.

Seriously?! People get to wake up to that every morning? They can sit on their deck and drink their morning coffee watching the sunrise over the mountains? Yes please. It so gorgeous that at the time, and even now nearly a year later I don't even have the words to describe how this view makes me feel. This picture is taken from my friend's aunt & uncle's backyard where her cousin & now wife got married.

I'm not going to lie, it wasn't love at first sight. It honestly wasn't love until day 2. Day 2 was when I got my first real sight of the mountains. Sure I saw a glimpse on day 1 & I thought it was really cool. But the glimps was nothing compared to what I saw on the second day. It was something that even though I had seen pictures before, I was not prepared for. It was beyond anything that I could imagine. I felt so at peace. A calm and amazement that I've never felt anywhere else.

I loved the nearly 1000 miles I saw of this place, even the parts that weren't so awe inspiring. I miss that place so bad sometimes that it actually hurts. I WILL return someday whether it's for a few days or a few years. I had so much fun & met some amazing people. Incase the pictures haven't given it away yet, my favorite place in the world is Colorado.

I spent a total of 4 nights there. The first being in Denver. Which honestly, I was not impressed at all. I could never go back to Denver & not really care. The Eastern side of Colorado, not so impressive. Colorado Springs seemed nice though, at least from what I saw on my drive through. Western Colorado though? Gorgeous.

  1. I absolutely LOVE Colorado. If I could live anywhere, I think that would be be my pick. I'm with you--the mountains are incredible!
